D. Dewey, Clinton Hall, N. Y. This is a pamphlet of six teen pages octavo, of close matter. It is the organ of llie Ameiican Peace Society, and is published every two months at the price of one dollar per annum.

The present number bears the name nf Richard M. Chipman, as editor nnd contains the proceedings of the fifth Anniversary the llcport and Constitution of the American Peace Society, besides much ruhar interesting information. We notice in one of the articles ihat a premium of $1000 is offered for the besl essay On a Congress or Court of Nations for the amicable seitlemcnt of National differences and the abolition of War," A premium of 500 was offered some lime since by the Society for a similar essay, and Joseph Story, William Wirt, and John M'Lean appointed arbiters. Thirty-seven essays were presented, and from these were chosen by the judges as the best. These however were of merit ro nearly equal, that the judges were unable doci le.

$500 was therefore added to the original premium, and another opportunity given to Esay writers.
