This Court met this morning, and no business being ready, adjourned till Thursday next, when those convioted during tho term will be sentenced. Polices. John P. Teale, was arraigned be lorc justice jsosweti on a cnarg ot assault and battery on Mrs. Kaiser in November last.

Tha plaintiff, her husband and daughter had oalled on Teale to ask paymeut of wages du Mr. Kaiser. Refusing to pay the demand, Mrs. Kaiser importuned Teale for fifty cents to buy bread for her children, and said if he would not give her the money, would he feed her childien il she brought them to his house. replied by placing his thumb to his nose, or as it is termed took a tight." Mis Kaiser, justly indignant, said: that is the way pay their debts," upon which Teale struck Per several times, and pushed her downstairs, from which she sustain ed severe injuries.
