IMPORTANT DISCOVERY I TO BO GOOD auction sales. BROADWAY in BROOKLYN OR, BOOTS AND OE OF EVERY, dnanrintinn. in Rrnadieav StuU. at the Brooklyn Ej'J. TODD, Aoctwaeer Sto Sales ROBi, '68 Fsjtwiatwsjtj H7 The undersigned respectfully tnggefls, fjs those who intend to dispose of fomlOTeic, hi Spring, to call on him early, so as to pro sufficient publicity to the same.

He knows from CHEMICAL PAINTINGS. 03" R. WINTER respectfully inform the citizens of, Brooklyn and vicinity, that' he will open his Exhibition in the CITY HOTEL, Fulton street, on Wednesday evening, Dee. 20th, 1843, and con. tinue until further notice.

1 The evening's entertainment, will commence with a series DIAPHANOUS PAINTINGS, the subjects of which will be varied each evening. After which he will be pleased to exhibit the three undermentioned CHEMICL PAINTINGS, in the stylo of the celebrated Daguekre. Each painting covers a surface of nearly two IS ONE OF THE CHIEF REASONS FOR WHICH MAN WAS CREATED. In all ages of the world, some have been found whose exertions have tended in an eminent degree to benefit their specie. All diseases, in a great measure, spring from our own negligence; and of these, pulmonary complaints, such as COUGHS, COLDS, ASTHMAS, INFLAMMATION AND BLEEDING AT THE LUNGS, DIFFICULT BREATH ING, INFLUENZA and Anally Cananinplion: stand prominent.

Who is there, now suffering un. der the last named direful malady, if questioned, would not say, I was warned in time, but neglect ed myself All would answer thus some might say, we knew not of a remedy but this will not ap. ply at this late day, whrn the fame of PEASE SONS' Compound Clarified Essence of Hodrhound Candy, formed from five and twenty unequalled cough ingredients, is known all over the Union and through foreign countries as beirg a certain eradi cator of CONSUMPTION, when taken in time. A little advice on this score cannot be out of place. A cold, however slight, is always dangerous; one day's neglect may cause a week's cure, and so on therefore economy, as well as health, should induce everybody to guard against a fit of long continued sickness, perhaps death.

This is effectually done by being provided with a few packages of Hoarhound ready by you. A few sticks used daily, not only keep off a cold, but purify the system for this medicine is a gentle purgative, and keeps the bowels free from all injurious, matters. Perhaps the whole annals of medicine do not furnish a case of parallel success. In fact, the proprietors and inventors scarcely expected that FOUR years would give it one half the notoriety, with all its virtues, that it now possesses. Nothing but its almost miraculous preservation of thousands from death c.uld have led to the numerous certificates furnished by all classes of citizens Presidents, Go vernors, Clergymen, Medical and Professional Merchants and Mechanics, who all testily, uuder their own signatures, the benefit which thev have personally or in their families experienced by its use.

In no case, where it is taken in time, will it fail to take away the most severe cough, hoarseness, and oppression of the lungs. In children's complaints, more especially! those fatal ones, Whooping Cough and Scarlet Fever, it has been used by our first phy. sicians with eminent success, and accomplished wonderful cures, and families where there are small children should always keep it, for it is so pleasant to the taste thai the smallest infants can use it freely. To those who reside in the country it is an invaluable medicine, and the occasional use of it will save sickness, and many a physician's heavy bill. It is the great consumptive remedy of the age.
