This country is growing in riches. Its natural resources are" unlimited.

It possesses more advantages for the accumulation of money than any other country In the world. The seed of prosperity has been sown. A long drouth in the form of panic, frosts In the form of pernicious legislation and bad weather in the form of ill advised and unwise policy upon the part of our highest public officials have retarded the growth of the plant; but Its roots are strong and deep, and through the unremitting toll and determination of the people It has been nourished and will soon bud and blossom to the delight and profit of all those who have the courage and will to pluck its golden flowers. The stock market was more or less unsettled, the disturbed feeling In Europe at the beginning of the year and later by tho announcement of the bond issue, which it was feared would cause stringency in money. Gradually a more hopeful view ot the situation prevailed and the market Improved under the lead of Sugar and the grangers. In the second week the trading was wholly professional and confined to the industrials, Chicago Gas; Manhattan, Western Union and the grangers.

The favorable news from Europe indicating tho peaceful settlement of the Venezuelan boundary dispute, the ending of the German Incident and relaxation of tension regarding affairs in the Transvaal republic Had comparatively little influence. Toward tho end of. the week prices fell sharply on an unconfirmed rumor that the English fleet had been ordered to the Bermudas. During the third week the market was generally strong and gradually tho whole list improved, Influenced by higher prices for Americana in London and by the entire absence of political tension in Europe. There was good buying "of stocks by arbitrage houses and investment purchases of stocks and bonds, which stimulated covering of short contracts.

The news of the treaty between Russia and Turkey had only a slight Influence and toward the end of the week there was a good demand for Sugar, the other industrials, Atchison, the coal shares, the grangers, Consolidated Gas, Electric. Louisville and Nashville, the Van derbllts, Manhattan. Western Union and Leather preferred and the market was quite Highest. 108M 09 19 70 102 15 495 lOSa 15 10H 78 00 90 157K 45 105! 10M 23' 31 38 08 140 81H' 47 21M 107 23" 00 20 77 12Js 08 70 2k 51a 11 31 651 100M 145 120W 1JM 10 2056 8M 1JH 5(1 WW 15 70 725 1275, 10H 10H OiK 28 r8J4 75C 175H K4 T(i 12M 38 cordance with tne cnarter.
