TERMS. WEEKLY AND To the Editor of the Brooklyn Eagle: "A Grumbler" in the Eagle of the 5th, says he will give away his land on Long Island and emigrate to Xew Jersey if Long Island is not to have reduced fares and better services. Will you kindly inform "A Grumbler" that the time will be when all that he is now finding fault with will no doubt be changed if he can wait. As it is, it will not be necessary to give away real estate on Long Island. I think a few of us could get together and raise enough to pay "Grumbler's" car fare to New Jersey tor, and in consideration of, his real estate.

I think "Grumbler" is one of those fellows who, if asked to put a price on what he holds in the way of real estate, would put it about what it will be worth ten years from now. If "Grumbler" is dissatisfied and wants to give away his real estate on Long Island he can find takers by the score. P. SYLVANIA. Lynbrook, L.

THOMAS FIRST IN RELIEF. little Danish Island Sent Ship to Help Martinique Sufferers. To the Editor of the Brooklyn Eagle: It may interest your readers to know what the island of St. Thomas, D. W.

has done in aid of suffering Martinique. The catastrophe occurred In that island of the Windward group on the morning of May S. Tele grr.phic news of the sad occurrence was received in the Danish island the night of May and a few hours after the Danish cruiser the Valkyrie started for the scene of distress with over $2,000 worth of provisions, sent by the Danish government, it is said, in conjunction with the French consul at St. Thomas, whom she took up. She also took off five hundred refugees srom a town which was in great danger, al otoush she had to retreat from St.

on account of the intense heat from the volcano. She was probably the first on the scene, as she got there tm the morning' of the so St. Thomas has the honor of being one of the first to render assistance to suffering Martinique. So far the Danish islands have been unaffected by the catastrophe in the Windward Islands, except a very slight shock of earth auake and a queer haze over the place for a few days. anice; to Jessie Dunn, child of James of Brooklyn, is given $500: to the iurors have been drawn for the County Court utinn BRIDGE NO. 3 PLAZA. There has not been much said in the last two weeks of the ill advised plan to change the terminal of bridge No. 3 from the vicinity Fulton street and Flatbush avenue to Sands street. It is probable that more careful consideration of this proposition has convinced its advocates of the weakness of their argument.

The expectation that the plaza this bridge will be located so as to Include practically all of the block bounded by Fulton street, DeKalb avenue and Hudson avenue seems to have been known by some of the wide awake real estate men in advance of the gentral public knowledge of this fact, and as a result the greater proportion of this property is controlled by options. At thi. same time the speculators who bought a great deal of property in the vicinity of Wil loughby and Gold streets, where it was first planned to have the terminal of the bridge, are likely to sustain some severe losses as a result. of their effort to steal a march upon other speculators.
