II10 Itijon Comedy Autocintion Plays tit Turn Hull. Tho Bijon comedy association, tho yonncost of the amateur dramatic associations of this city, mado its bow before the uublio Thursday night iu T.

Y. Robertson's three act comedy, at Turn hall, Mesorole street. The cast of characters was as follows: Hon. George D'Alroy, Frank Wood: Captain Hawtree, Paul Barnes: F.ccles, Edward Gerry; Samuel Gorridge, J.Frank McXamara; Dixon, Henry Waldeck; Marquise de St. Matir, Miss Tille Gahre; Polly Eccles, Miss Mamie Iloertz: Esther Eccles, Miss Mamie Carroll.

Although this was tho first attompt of tills young society to mount a play there was not a hitch in the performance. Tho various aspirants for histrionic honors performed their parts well and won generous applause from tho audience. This old comedy presents excellent opportunities for pathos and humor. Miss Mamie Carroll as Esther Eocios showed uncommon dramatio ability. As tho happy wife ot D'Alroy she was bright and cheerful and tho patient, sorrowful life of a widow, who revered the hamo of her husband, has seldom been bettor enacted on tho amateur stage than it wns by Miss Carroll.

Then when her husband returned from the war she had an opportunity for excellent dramatic effect which eho grasped in a masterly manner. Miss Mamie Hoortz, as Polly Eccles, kept the audieuco in roars of laughter throughout tho performance. Sho displayed ability in continuous stago business which is not always surpassed on the professional stage. Frank McN'umara, as Satnuol Gorridgo Hharod the honors with Miss Iloertz and Edward Gerry depicted tlio character of EccIcb, the drunken, but cultured father of the two girls, excellently. Panl Barnes as Captain Hawtree, was a typical cockuey.

Miss Tillia Gahre as Marquise do St. Maur, Frank Wo id as the Hon. George D'Alroy and Henry Waldeck as Dixon received a liberal sharo of tho apnlauso. The Bijou was organized lastspring.Itii members are ambitions and its dramatic corps worked hard for the success of their opening night. At the conclusion of the dramatic entertainment thero was a ball, which laBted until daylight.

Professor Eiseuhofer furnished the music. Tho ball committee were: Floor manager, Emory Whaley; assistant floor manager, Charles Daly; chairman of floor committee, George Rausch, floor committee, George Buttschardt, Honry Cordes, Charles Stone, Emil Siogert, T. V. Patterson; chairman of reception committee, Charles Holland; reception committee, James Foster, William C. Siogert, William Rettborg, William Wurrow, Edward Gerry, tho Misses Josio A.

Dunn, G. Dauaonville, Grace Fox, Maggie Green, Katio Kelly, Ada Norrls, Celia Seisman, Tiliio Gahre, Mamie Carroll, Mamie Shafer, Lillie Fox, Minnie Groen, Alice Kane. Tho officers of the association are J. Frank Mc Namara, president; Frank W. Wood, first vice president: MisB Marv iloertz, aocond vies president; William Wood, apoaker; John Whaley, treasurer: Miss Alice Wood, financial secretary; Emory Whaley, corresponding secretary; Miss A mie Gerken, recording secretary; James Mc Caffroy.
