Jel5 5t Ho. 3 Naasau st near Wa'l N. T. It's a great time for cheap exhibitions. People who have money to spare usually go to conoert rooms to see calico daubed oyer with muddy paint and oalled panoramas and others go to see paste daggers on the stage, flashing lanterns for lightning, and the rattling of tin pans for artificial thnnde r.

For cheap an genuine exhibitions of real panoramic beauty and lightning as is you have only to visit the rural districts, and throw np your window on such an evening as the last. The music of birds, cascades and double winged zephyrs, put to shame the screaming of pianos and scraping of oat gut, and the open air fragrance of the flowers the bottled np perfumeBof the apothecary. Happy he who presentiug his oat tail to the city, goes off to rusticate among the cheap exhibitions of the country. The shreds and patches of canvass, yea, even the best efforts of the in. spired artist look pale and sickly beBide the rosy cheeked rainbow hued pictures of nature.

Go out with your broad cloth and fine linen, your silks and satins and compare your toilet with the home mado mantilla of a violet, or the pantalettes of a sun flower. Sings County Court of Oyer and Terminer Before Judges Rockwell and Moore Justices Stillwell and Stryker. The Commissioners of Excise of the City of Brooklyn, the majority of whom were indicted for granting IioenBes to improper persons, were brought before the Court this morning for trial, on the charge of misdemeanor. John iavanagn. Mr. Waring, for defense, contended that as the majority of the Board was indicted, and as the majority only can transact business as a body, they should be tried as a body and not separately Judge Rockwell decided adversely. They had been indicted separately and could so be tried. Mr.

Sanxay moved to quash the indictment. stating that the defendants were charged with issuing a license to John Gubbins in Columbia street, near Amity, when they were not satisfied that the applicant was of good moral character. He contended that as individuals they were lia able to diversity of opinion, that as a Board they were competent to grant licenses, and in granting a license to Gubbins they committed no offense, but acted in accordance with the duties of iheir office, and violated no law. The Court held that there must be a way of punishing officers for a violation of their dnty, and therefore declined to quash ihe indictment.
