fcKGAIi NOTICES. BOAHDINO. SPAOIS WAOTMb. BO ABIDING FIRST EDITION. TUESDAY EVENING, JUNE.

4. SPORTS AND PASTIMES. Base Ball. Mohawk (Second Nine) ys. Independent (Second Nike.) TheBe two nines had their first iramo (this season) together on Baturday last.

The gamo played was one that both of thoBe nine shonld oe ssbamed to play; Of course, there went some honorable exceptions, but they were like angeVs Wsite, raw and far bstwei Kctcuam, Bailay, Brown and Noyes did. excellently on tho Independent sldo, while Hoc gland, DnFlon, Clayton and Smith carried on the palm on the Maliawk side. The batting was extremly une on both sides. Before the Mohawk pect to be successful tbey must weed out tho dry bucks of tho nine. The feature of thegame was the excellent umpiring of Mr.

Regan, ofthe Atlantic Clnb. His reading of section ten is the first correct one we have soon. He would not allow a run for a base to be mado upon a called ball, and thereby a much better game was tad, than if the bases had been run with facility, lhe toi BMil1 iy AWTEM.
