Opera have certainly shown great taste In requesting a repetition of "Orphous and Eury Gluck's beautiful work is to bo given at the Academy of Music on Thursday evening, tho fifth night of the season; and there is little doubt but that tho repealed performance will command as numerous and brilliant an attendance as did tha first production of tho opera hero, the advance Bale of seats up to yesterday having boon very large indeed. Orphous and Eurydlce Beoins to have taken aa firm hold upon tho Brooklyn public as upon New York opera goers. At the New York Acadomy the opera has been given nine times, and on each occasion to overflowing audiences. Mmo. Heleno has become famous through her superb embodiment of Orpheus, and Miss Emma Juch, wlioso clmrniing interpretation of the role of Eurydlco has added largely to hor well won reputation, are again to support tho chief characters, and the representation will be as elaborate In every particular of scenic display and stage appointments as on the occasion of tho previous performance of tho opera in this city.

The Thomas band, led by Mr. Theodore Thomas in person, the American Opera chorus of 112 singors and tho ballet of I ts dancers and figurantes will lend their exertions to tile heightening of tho ImprossiveneBS of the ensomble and miso en sceno. Music lovers who have not witnessed this delightful production should make their opportunity for 60 doing secure by lodging early application for places. It is a curious fact that Mary Anderson's own native dominions in tho South have been this year invaded, with great succesB, by a foreign tragedienne, Adelaide Mooro. It is fair to call her foreign becauso she made hor debut in England and is a well established Loudon favorlto.

As a matter of fact, however, there is reason to believe that Miss Mooro is by birth American. If she is, hers is one more name to add to tho long list of American girls who have mado artistic history in both hemispheres. But whother or not Bhe is an American in fact, Miss Moore's beauty and talent entitle her to thatcrodlt. Down South her triumph seems to have boon extraordinary, and in tho West, from whlcii Bhe comes to Brooklyn this week, her fame appears to be equally well established. According to newspaper roport she is a very pretty young woman whoso resomblauco to tho lamomod Adoiaido Neilson is startling.

Her dark Oriental face and hor lithe willowy figure are said to be amazingly like those of that unforcetablo Juliet. During this her first American tour Miss Mooro has played a strictly standard and olasslcal repertoire something promised for her at the Criterion Theater, where she is to come forth to morrow night in "As You Like It." So many havo been soif called and so few uavo popularly chosen as actual rivals of Mary Anderson that the advent of Miss Moore will bo regarded with a great deal of critical and of triendly interest in Brooklyn. It is whispered indeed that, for reasons not given out, she looks forward to hor first appearance In this city with more than the usual concern and trepidation.
