Foreisn and Domestic Sotem BNter. Oout itroet, Brooklyn. A Cash op Crtnr Con. A rather novol case was tried before Justice Jacobs this morning. The parties interested are all colored persons.

Mary Geere was charged with committing an assanlt and battery upon Margaret Passeley both married women. The aooused tried to justify the assanlt by charging Mrs. Passely with seducing her husband, Mr. Geer. From the feots elicited in the case, all parties having pri Tiloge of giving their version of the story, it appears that Mr.

Geer told bis wife that he had a kind of mormon correspondence witk Mrs. Passeley but justified himself by stating that Mrs. Passeley had seduced him upon this Mrs. Goer got into a passion, and swoTe eternal vengeance, on Mrs. Pas Beley for seducing her innocent husband.

Tho consequence was that Mrs. Geer called Mrs. P. very bad names, which coming to the oars of Mrs. she in turn got wrothy, and proceeded to tho jhouse of Geer and denied the soft impeachment, and in turn oharged Mr.

Geer with seducing her ho knowing that she was a poor lone woman, her husband being away, and a member of the church, (as in fact were all the parties concorned,) which fact she supposed made Mr. Geer take advantage of her. Tho justice concluded that as Mr. Geer had no business to be running after other womon, and his wife not being autl orisod to assault females beoatue they were soft enough to be overcome by his winning smiles and as Mr. P.

had roceived no compensation from Mr. G. lor the unlawful intimacy, he fined Mrs. Geer $5 for the assault. Union Febbt Guabds.

The annual ball of our friends tho ferrymen was given last evening at Gotbio Hall. Those ferrymen are, or should, bo happy dogs, for such an arruy of rosy, smiling, matrons, lovely maidens, and beautiful children, all ra dient with gratification, we seldom see, an gathered in the grand hall of Gothic last night.
