As he drives up with the girl the daughter of the house and her them.

The daughter steps up and you think of this? Am I narrow for a kiss? EDITH. My dear Edith- arr minded but unduly critical. For in this casual day such things mean little. Forget it is the advice of HELEN WORTH. WANTS TO BUY HOME Dear Helen Worth-You have helped me in so many other ways that I am confident you will now.

although I'm afraid it is somewhat out of your line. Have you any descriptive particulars concerning the Home Owners Loan Corporation? My husband and I are thinking of buying a twofamily house under the H. O. L. C.

We are thinking of paying about $6,500, putting $1,000 down; leaving 8. little over $1.100 in hand for the proverbial "rainy day." We plan to live in the house, renting the upper floor. My husband makes a good salary. We have no children and no debts. Do you think this a good investment? Any literature you may know of we will greatly appreciate.

If any of your readers know of the H. O. L. 1. would appreciate nearing their views.

J. M. J. My dear J. M.

French say: "Tell a beautiful woman that she is intelligent, an intelligent woman that she is beautiful if you wish to flatter her." Certain: under the head of flattery comes your request. for my knowledge of arithmetic is scant, of sound investments ditto. I am a great believer in owning one's own home because of psychological returns on money invested, if for no other reason. Perhaps some of the readers will give us the information you seek. HELEN WORTH.

QUESTION OF FAIRNESS Dear Helen Worth-Do you consider it fair either to the child who is about to graduate from grammar school or to the parents who have to hand out hard-earned money to provide a complete outfit of clothes NOT to be told until the night of graduation whether the youngsters have passed ALL of their regents or not? It has always been a rule in this small school that, no matter whether Johnnie or Helen have passed all of their examinations, they just go up on the platform with their fellow classmates and get graduated with the rest of the class. Then, if they have failed anything, it 1 is stated on the school certificate, "conditioned in so and so." A GLEN HEAD (L. READER. My dear Reader--Probably it is impossible to manage the matter differently. Perhaps the feelings of the pupil are less hurt under this system.

But it does seem to impose a hardship on the parents. HELEN WORTH. Dear Helen Worth-I have never written to you before but enjoy your answers and letters of kindness to so many. Could you please publish the name and address of some person who makes up scrapbooks for children?
