With only four days of preparation, the committee staged an excellent, fast-paced entertainment without the usual confusion found at such benefits. Harry D. Copp, backstage, had the entertainers waiting in line to take the stage as fast as they were presented by Everett Clark, who, incidentally, makes a remarkably good master of ceremonies. it was the entertainers from various fields who came to the aid of charity and made of the affair the success it was. Vic Hyde, for instance, disobeyed the ruling of Rudy Vallee, his sponsor, to play the benefit.

Hyde is the lad who has all the blase musicians of New York talking. His "one-man band" act is the sensation of the season.
