"Your newly obtained rights under the Wagner greater responsibility," he asserted. "The day of the derby-hatted, cigar-chewing walking delegate, who often settled a strike shaking down an ema a a ployer, is over forever.

"Labor now requires honest leadership, and 1 not until every means of conference is exhausted should labor resort to legitimate use of the strike." Asserting that the officers of the American Woolen Company showed business prudence in readily consenting to the election, LaGuardia said it was evident "your difficulties are to be settled without strife." "Your committee." he added, "has used intelligence in handling the situation." LaGuardia declared that "in orhave prosperity American indestroy must have stability cana in order to have stability American workers must have security. I want the American standard of living to be what your protectionist friends say it is when they are arguing for a tariff." He predicts a three to one margin. Aldermanic President William F. Brunner, candidate for borough president, and other regular Democratic candidates, including Kenneth W. O'Hare.

City Court Justices Charles W. Froessel and Paul L. Livoti, and William F. Dailey, will lead a parade of 2,000 party workers in Ozone Park tonight. Tomorrow night these candidates will speak at the Cleveland Club, 118-04 Rockaway Boulevard, Ozone Park.

James M. Walsh, campaign chairman for the Sheridan forces in the Pourth Zone of the Fifth A. and Daniel J. Eleanor Granville, 40, of 77 Quebec Road, Island Park, known in police circles as "Lady Granville." in in Long Beach Hosptal for a possible fractured left forearm, and inisistant that she can not explain the injury. Mrs. Granville, widow of a onetime important figure in the Hollywood film industry, asked a policeman to take her to the hospital. Mrs. Granville has been Island Park police several times charged with public intoxication; actions under that condition taking the form of attempting to throw herself under cars passing along the street.

Father Who Once Fractured Baby's Skull Held for Arson Andrew Coletti, 21, Jobless plumber who, last February, struck his threemonth-old son, Gaetano, to stop the child's crying and fractured its skull, was brought into Brooklyn Felony Court on a charge of arson, to which, police said, he confessed. He told Detective John Sheridan of the 85th Squad, who made arrest, that since the attack on the baby, which survived, his wife left him, his family would have nothing to do with him, and he had been brooding over his fate.

"I thought," he said, "I might be put away somewhere for a few years." Magistrate Matthew J. Troy, after Coletti had waived examination, held him in $10,000 bail for the action of the grand jury. Coletti was charged with setting fire to the apartment he occupied at 208 Nassau St. He was discharged for felonious assault on the child in February after wife, Mary, refused to file a complaint. Mrs.

Wegner John J. Wegner, 28 years a member of the police force, died Saturday at his home, 206 E. 4th at the age of 53. He had recently been attached to the Sheepshead Bay precinct, after service with the taxicab inspection bureau and with the detective force. He had figured in the investigations that led to the convictions in the West End Bank murders case and in many other criminal cases of the past two decades.

Mr. Wegner was 53 years old. He was a member of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, the Detectives' Endowment Association and Woodrow Wilson Democratic Club, at 8th Ave. and 9th St. He is survived by his widow, Mrs.

Edith Wegner, three sons, George, Jack and Lester, and a daughter, Miss Muriel Wegner. Property in Good Faith Battle Defendant Thomas F. Gurry Jr. moved today before Supreme Court Justice Brower to be excluded from a suit involving property at Port Washing- ton in which George Gordon Battle, attorney, has been made a defendant. Decision was reserved. Gurry stated that he purchased the property last year from the BillikenSamarkand Corporation $50,000, of which he paid $30.000 cash.
