VZZ22ZZZZ2ZZZZZZZZZZZZ2ZZZ2ZZ2P according to Mr. Saville, director of "Loves of a Dictator" Roxy's, is the Silver Jubilee of the King and Queen. "In the magnificent paceant of the jubilee," he says, "millions of English men and women wt re able to identify themselves with an opulent and stirring, if unreal, way of life. For at least a few minutes, while the royal procession was passing, the man in the street was living in his own particular "world of the And this, Mr. Saville rgues, is what a successful screen drama do; it must make the unreal plausible and lift the spectator out of his own world into one more fascinating.

"To do this," says Mr. Saville, "the director must be constantly aware of the two basic elecents ir. his drama first, the universally human and easily recognizable emotions on which his plot is built, second, the world of fan- Miserables' And Other Films Continued from Pace been inspired by his yarns such pictures as "The Maltese Falcon" and "The Glass Key," as well as "The Thin Man" have been model entertainments of their kind. Flatbush and Mldwoori Planes Receive Beauty Treatment Did you ever see a dream walking? You would have thought so had you seen the makeup men on the set of Columbia's "Air Hawks" as they applied make-up grease paint to every bit of metal within range of the camera's eye.

All the electrical contrivances used received a coat of grease paint so they would not pick up the reflections of the lights and throw them into the camera lens. Not only was it necessary to dull these surfaces but all other metal objects on the set received the same treatment, including a gold fountain pen, an ink stand, the model of an airplane and a bronze statue. Of course, the trick worked. But, if uninformed as to what was happening, you had walked on the set, you would have felt sure you were in a psychopathic ward. Where else but Park.M.

"Mr Dynamite" has several quaint touches, novel developments which re characteristic of Hammett imaginative talent as a fashioner of entertaining "whodunit" riddles. Of course, even so clever a writer of mystery yarns as Hammett cannot be expected to turn out a "Thin Man" every time. "Mr. Dynamite" Is one of ais lesser achievements.
