Two fireboats assisted from positions in the nearby Gowanus Canal. The cold and high wind made fire-fighting difficult. The adjoining yards of the Bush Lumber and Supply Company, 460 Hamilton and the premises at 448, shared by the McCarthy Pole Company, and the Scala junkyard and used car lot, were also damaged. The Reilly reported missing was a brother of Fred Reilly, 23, who made a desperate effort to save the younger man. The older brother had to be restrained from plunging back into the flames.

A difference of opinion concerning the use of the burner was revealed by an examination by Brophy of the manager of the plant, Floyd M. Bennett, and employes. Hold Rites Tonight For Harry G. Wood Special to the Brooklyn Eagle Inwood, Jan. 15-Fraternal services for Harry G.
