He had been general manager for Mr. Belasco for many years and also was one of Mr.

Frohman's managers. Mr. Hartwig also directed the lyn Postof floe, died Thursday in his home, 59 Pennsylvania of a heart ailment. He was 53. Mr.

Fitzgerald was a native of Brooklyn and had been connected with the postofflce for the last 35 years. He was president of the post-office Holy Name Society and past president of St. Malachy's Holy "Twelfth Night," on a seven-week tour through New England. It was the last time Miss Adams played under any management. During the Winters of 1933 and 1934 Mr.

Hartwig worked for Fox Pictures In Hollywood. In 1935 he reappeared on Broadway as producer and director of "Loose Moments," a comedy by Courtenay Savage and Bertram Hobbs. One the fifth and sixth grades of P. S. 109 and 33 will be excused an hour earlier than usual to attend special classes in various religious centers.

The program, an experimental one aimed at setting up a pattern for boroughwide participation, will be conducted each Wednesday for a year. I have written requests from parents. Michael A. Baron, 44, of 35-07 147th Flushing. Queens, well-known news photographer, died yesterday. He had been with International News Photos for 22 years and was the first to get a photograph of the burning Ward liner Morro Castle from the air in 1934.

Mr. Baron had been at every Presidential inauguration for 20 years. When the late Gen. Italo Balbo's planes made the flight from Italy In 1933, he was sent to Newfoundland to get pictures of them. He was an instructor in navigation during the World War.

Mr. Baron formerly was a member of the executive committee of the American Newspaper Guild. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Vera Baron; two sons, Gene and Harry Baron; his mother, Mrs. Anthony Baron, and four sisters, Mrs.

Luis P. Scherer, Mrs. Dimitrt Nimi-doff, Mrs. William Alton Sessions and Mrs. Jean The funeral will be held from the Frank E.

Jan. 18 Funera! services were held yesterday for Mrs. Mary F. Brennan, 74, wife of Thomas Brennan, who died at her home here Tuesday. She was a native of County Mayo, Ireland, and was married 59 years ago.

Mr. Brennan survives her with three sons, Thomas a member of the Raritan township committee; Leo F. and William both of Brooklyn; two daughters, Mrs. John P. Donohue and Miss Lillian Brennan, also of Brooklyn, and five grandchildren.

George F. Moran Dies in Havana legal possession and sale of liquor and he served a sentence of one year in a Federal prison for the violation. Charles E. Stretch, Retired Executive Charles Edward Stretch of 681 3d former treasurer of the Standard Fashion Company, died yesterday at his home. He was 71.

"Mr. Stretch retired from active business 15 years ago. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Henrietta Rock Stretch; 'Dr' Anna Swift Conviction Upheld by Appellate Court Conviction of "Dr." Anna Swift, who operated one of the city's most ornate houses of prostitution as a "massage Institute" in a private five-story dwelling at 8 W. 70th Manhattan, was upheld unanimously yesterday by the Appellate Division.

stoppanl, who was 74, was a partner In the former brokerage firm of Ennls Stoppanl and1 had been active in the securities markets for 50 years. Mr. Stoppanl, the son of Charles Francis and Eliza Jane Stoppanl, was born in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, on Oct. 29, 1866. At the age of 21 he went to work on the consolidated Stock Exchange, 1 and a year later bought a seat on the Exchange.

His last association was, with McManamy Investment securities, of 120 Broadway, Manhattan. Mr. Stoppanl had been a member of the New York Yacht Club, the New York Athletic Club, the Manhattan Club of New York, the Brooklyn Club, the Crescent Athletic Club and the Hanover Club of Was Oldest Member Of Flatlands Church Mrs. Anna M. Bergen Hitchings, 87, of 931 E.

35th oldest member of the Flatlands Dutch Reformed Church, died yesterday at her home after an illness of several months. Mrs. Hitchings was a daughter of the late Jeremiah Bergen and Jane Ann Lott, and was related to several Holland-Dutch families. She was a descendant of Sarah Rapelje, first white child born on Manhattan Island. She was the widow of Benjamin Hitchings and is survived by a daughter, Mrs.

Sarah B. Pierce; two sons, Benjamin who is a lumber merchant, and Harry I. Hitchings; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow In the Moadinger Funeral Parlors, 1120 Flatbush with the Rev.

Dr. Charles William Roeder, pastor of Flatlands Church, officiating. ship at Bellevue Hospital in New York and was appointed assistant surgeon in the navy in 1880. In 1912 he was appointed fleet surgeon for the Atlantic Fleet, and was attending White House physician during the term of Theodora Roosevelt. In 1914 he was promoted to the post of surgeon general and given the rank of read admiral.

He formerly was president of the American Medical Association, the National board of Medical Examiners, the Association of Military Surgeons and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He leaves his wife, Lillian and a son, Capt. Frank Braisted of the U. S. Navy, stationed at Ban Francisco.

Red Cross Sets Record For Shipments Abroad A Red Cross record was set by the shipment of war relief goods this week, with a total of $1,206,000 supplies going to Epgland, Finland and China, American Red Cross officials disclosed today. In addition, a Greek steamer is ready to sail with several million pounds of war goods. a daughter, Mrs. Edith Pina; three sons, Herbert, Harry and Walter her second conviction in four years. Mrs.

Samuel Dinberg Mrs. Ida Blanke Dinberg of 1985 E. 15th died Thursday at Beth El Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Manhattan and lived in Brooklyn for the last 45 years. She was active in many charities and is survived by her husband, Samuel Dinberg, and three brothers, Lewis Joseph M.

and George J. Blanke, who is a member of the staff of Friday magazine. The funeral services will be held from the Jeffer Funeral Home, 452 New York at I p.m. Sunday. Word was received here today of the death Thursday in Havana, Cuba, of George F.

Moran, a member of a prominent Brooklyn family, at the age of 45. He was a son of the late John Austin Moran and the brother of Bernard Moran, president of the Atlantic Basin Iron Works. His wife, Mrs. Gertrude E. Moran, who lives at the Towers Hotel, was on her way to Havana last night.

Also surviving are a daughter, Laura. and two sisters, Mrs. Leopold Croes and Mrs. Frank Laflin. Three years ago Mr.

Moran filed suit in Supreme Court against his wife for the return of more than $400,000 in cash and securities, which, he claimed, he had entrusted to her. In her answer Mrs. Moran stated that whatever money she used was given to her by her husband. This, she said, amounted to $277,000. Appraisals Stretch, and a brother, William Stretch.
