He was a member of the Rockaway Beach law firm of Kohn Granirer, 8401 Rocka way Beach Boulevard, and lived at 165 Beach 124th Rockaway Park.

Mr. Kohn, who had lived in the Rockaways the greater part of his life, was graduated from Cornell from Cornell Law School in 1909. University cum laude, in 1906, and Later he became a counsel to the old Bank of Long Island, continuing with it after its merger with the John L. Walsh, 46, Sand Works Head Developed New Type Of Concrete Mixture Huntington, Dec. 15-John L.

Walsh, Northport businessman, died Monday night in Huntington Hospital after a brief illness. He was 46. Born in Brooklyn, the son of Dr. John E. and Anna Walsh, he was educated there and moved to Northport 23 years ago.

He was the inventor of "Walshcrete," a concrete mixture used in the construction of buildings. He developed a section of Northport and was the owner of the Walsh Sand and Gravel Works. He conducted a farm last Summer as a war effort. A solemn mass of requiem will be offered at 9 a.m. tomorrow in St.

Philip Neri R. C. Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Flaherty Walsh; three children, and a sister, Elaine Walsh.

Edward F. Boyle, Ex-City Jurist Edward F. Boyle, 67. former Presiding Justice of the Domestic Relations Court, who at one time was Borough President of Manhattan, died yesterday in St. Clare's Hospital, where he had been a patient for a week.

He lived at 2 Beekman Place. Mr. Boyle's first city job was that of examiner in the office of the Commissioner of Accounts. Soon after he was made chief examiner and for three years he was president of the Board of Elections. He became a city magistrate in 1917.

and the following year was elected a justice of the Municipal Court. After the death in 1919 of Frank L. Dowling he was elected by the Manhattan Aldermen to the Presidency of the Borough of Manhattan. He became the Tammany candidate for the post that Fall but was defeated by Henry H. Curran.

Later he became State Industrial Commissioner. He was an associate justice of the Children's Court before his designation by Mayor John P. O'Brien in 1933 as presiding justice. Justice Boyle is survived by four sons. Edward and Hugh, twins; Robert and Gerald Boyle.

Mickey Rooney's Grandfather Dies Jersey City, N. Dec. 15-Ninnian Yule, 77, paternal grandfather of Mickey Rooney, screen star, died yesterday in the medical ward of the Hudson County jail. Jersey City. had been committed there for observation Dec.

10 on application of his daughter, Mrs. Jean Moser of 78 W. 7th Bayonne, N. with whom he made his home. Death was due to cerebral apoplexy.

According to Mrs. Moser, her father became unmanageable following a visit early this month of his son, Joe Yule, Mickey's actor father. Mrs. Moser said it was the first visit between father and son in 20 years. Mr.

Kohn was a former director of the Chamber of Commerce of the Rockaways, and was counsel to the Rockaway Beach Hospital and a member of its board of directors before illness forced his retirement. He then became an honorary member of the Rockaway Masonic Lodge and the American Bar Association. Funeral services will be held at the Riverside Memorial, Far Rockaway, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth V.

Kohn. Pvt. McElfresh, Killed in Italy Was Baseball Star At Hamilton School Pvt. William McElfresh, son of William McElfresh of 673 Vanderbilt was killed in action in Italy on Oct. 30, according to word from the War Department.

He was 28 and previously took part in the campaigns in North Africa and Sicily. Born in Brooklyn, Private McElfresh was graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School, where he starred in baseball, and then attended the American Institute of Banking. He was employed by the Manufacturers Company, Manhattan, when he entered the armed service Nov. 13, 1941. He received his military training at Camp Bragg, N.

and at Camp Landing. Fla. He went overseas in April, 1942. Surviving, besides his father, are hi widow, Helen, and a brother, Howell. A solemn requiem high mass will be offered at 9 a.m.

Reynolds, a life-long resident of the borough, was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, and a member of the 14th Regiment Camp, United Spanish War Veterans. He also was a member of Commonwealth Lodge 409. F. A. M.

Until his retirement about 15 rears ago he was a warper for 25 years with the Julius Kayser Co. silk mills, Brooklyn. He is survived by two brothers, Herbert and William Reynolds, and a sister, Mrs. F. Klein.

Mrs. Josephine Heenan A solemn mass of requiem will be offered at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Anselm's R. C.

Church, 83d St. and 4th for Mrs. Josephine Dolores Heenan, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Bell. 567 83d after a brief illness.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. She was the widow of Charles Heenan. Besides her daughter, she is survived by three grand. children. Emily, John and William Bell, the latter two, respectively, are in the navy and army.

James M'Monigle, Ex- Bank Employe Funeral services will be held at 8 tonight for James MacMonigle at his home, 254 15th where he died Monday at the age of 72 after a long illness. In his early years he was a blacksmith in a shop on 4th and Prospect Aves. and later was employed by the Borden Company. When he retired 14 years ago he was employed by the South Brooklyn Savings Bank. Mr.

MacMonigle, who was born in the borough, was a member of Oliver Branch of Odd Fellows and of the Junior Order, United American Mechanics. His wife, Mrs. Neita MacMonigle, died in October, 1939. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth and Lillian; two sons, Samuel and Arthur; three sisters, Bessie, Martha and May, and a brother, Henry. Burial will take place at 2 p.m.

Catherwood of 1127 Bergen who for 50 years until he retired in 1935 conducted his own meat market at 112 Bridge died Monday. He was 81, Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Hugh and Ann Catherwood. He was married in 1890 to Margaret Bradley, daughter of the late State Senator Daniel Bradley, former prominent Brooklyn Democrat. She died Dec. 7, 1933.

Three of 12 children survive: William S. Catherwood general manager of the Murray Manufacturing Company, this borough; Anna B. Catherwood and Mrs. Rita C. Coogan.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from Mr. Catherwood's home, with a solemn requiem mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory's R. C.

Edward Potter, Assistant District Attorney, said that Toth had admitted starting the blaze following a quarrel with his wife. According to a complaint signed by Assistant Fire Marshal John H. Tieterman, Toth and his wife. who owned the building jointly, had agreed to sell it before the quarrel. The complaint said that Toth started the fire by igniting fuel oil.

Firemen quickly extinguished the blaze. WIFE HELD IN CONTEMPT AS JURY FREES MATE One minute after Mrs. Catherine Burdy of 31-13 34th Astoria, was held in contempt of court for her persistent refusal to testify against her husband, John, 29, a jury in Queens County Court acquitted him on a charge of possessing a revolver.
