Paul McHugh of 80-23 Park Lane, Kew Gardens, attending surgeon at St. John's Hospital, Long Island City, and former surgeon at the Queens General Hospital, Jamaica, died in St. John's Hospital last night afte: a lingering illness. He was 49 and was born in Glens Falls. He graduated from the Bellevue Hospital Medical School in 1916 and after serving his interneship at St.

John's, practiced in Long Island City, and. Kew Gardens. He was a member of the American Medical Association and of several local medical societies. August W. Kaatze August W.

Kaatze, 72, of 4215 Elbertson Elmhurst, died yesterday at the Jamaica Hospital after a brief illness. For many years he was the proprietor of a public garage at 23 Ten Eyck St. He was born in Germany and came to this conutry about 50 years ago. Brannan, 80, Friend of Edison Telegrapher Was Active In S. Brooklyn Groups Services will be held tonight in the Fairchild Chapel, 86 Lefferts Place, for Barrington L. Brannan, 80, active 1 in South Brooklyn social and civic organizations and a friend in his earlier years of Thomas Alva Edison. Surviving are his widow, and three stepchildren. A member of an old Southern family, he was born in Fredericksburg, Va. He went to work as a messenger boy for Western Union, in whose employ he remained until his retirement 15 year ago. He early learned to operate the chine and was promoted to the position of telegrapher. Mrs. George J. Corrody Mrs. Amelia Corrody, wife of George J. Corrody, of 5 Bleecker died at her home yesterday.

She was born in Brooklyn 38 years ago and was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society of the Bushwick Avenue Methodist Church. She was a resident of the Bushwick Section for 15 years and is survived by her husband and two children, Robert and Beatrice. Services will be held at B. J. 4-George Reginald Rogan, assistant city editor of the Los Angeles Herald -Express and formerly connected with several New York newspapers while a resident of Brooklyn, died suddenly last night after a heart attack. He was 56. Born in Bermuda, Mr. Rogan came to Brooklyn as a boy and there until about 15 years ago. He started his newspaper career as office boy on the Brooklyn Citizen.

Professor Economics Teacher Was Bishop's Son Donald W. McConnell, 39, assistant professor of economics at New York University and a son of Bishop Francis J. McConnell. resident bishop of the New York area of the Methodist Church, died last night at the New York Hospital, where he had undergone an operation Jan. 24.

Professor McConnell, who lived at 246 Waverly Place, Manhattan, joined the university staff as an instructor in February, 1928, and was promoted to assistant professor in September, 1931. Born in Ipswich, he graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1928 and subsequently studied at Columbia University, He is the author of a number of books on economics, including "Economic Behaviour." He is survived by his parents; his wife, Jean Lyon McConnell; a sister, Dorothy McConnell of this city, and a brother, Thomas. of Chicago. Harry D. Burch, Horse Trainer Harry David Burch of 3610 Avenue well-known horse trainer, who formerly operated the Brooklyn Riding and Driving Club, died suddenly in Miami of a heart attack.

Mr. Burch was born in Brooklyn 42 years ago, the son of late Charles Burch. He is survived by his mother, Carrie; two sisters, Mrs. Estelle Schaller and Mrs. Beatrice Hughes, and four brothers, Charles, Edward, George and William.

The funeral is expected to be held Thursday, with a solemn mass of requiem in St. Brendan's R. C. Church. Mrs.

Eleanor Steele Clovis, $1.500.000. They were also given the residuary estate in specified shares. His sons-in-law, Devereux Milburn and F. Skiddy VonStade, were bequeathed $50,000 each. and each grandchild was willed $25,000.

To other relatives and employes Mr. Steele left sums ranging from $1,000 to $100,000. Roman Serkanic Roman Serkanic, 64, of 588 Seneca died Saturday. He was a member of St. Joseph's Branch, 107, of the Catholic Slovak Union of America.
