Like the former Mayor, Mr. LaGuardia was 'a major in aviation, serving on the Italian and French fronts during the World War. After saying that it might seem a bit strange to army men. that "seasoned and hard men in political life should be so sentimental and affectionate over one of their fellow comrades," the Mayor declared: "While others before lum attempted to demonstrate the possibility of sustained good municipal government, he succeeded in that during his administration, and that was just as unusual as the flight at Kitty Hawk." Kouwenhoven at her home, 170-29 Henley Road, Jamaica Estates, widow of Peter W. Kouwenhoven and a member of one of the oldest families in the Flat-lands section. Mrs. Kouwenhoven was 75 years old. She died yesterday morning In the Jamaica Hospital, where she was brought suffering from appendicitis.

Both Mrs. Kouwenhoven and her husband were born in Flatlands, members of two of the oldest families there. She was Sarah E. Ryder, daughter of John J. Ryder.

A son, Harry, and a brother, William H. Ryder, survive. Mrs. Kouwenhoven was a member of Rufus King Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and of the Jamaica Dutch Reformed Church and it. Women's Club.

With Grantland Rice and Innis Brown he founded the American Golfer. Sponsored Open Tourney Mr. Parker sponsored the first New York State open golf championship in 1928 and its successor, the Junior championship tournament, three years later. He had supported the Cornell University Agricultural School research work in perfecting new types of grass for gaxrs. He waj a member of the Garden City Golf Club and the Dutch Treat Club of this city.

His widow, Mrs. Katherine Harris Parker, and two sons, Don M. Parker association with the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation of Bridgeport, and Harris Brewster Parker, with the United States Advertising Corporation, survive. man, both of Montclair, N. J.

He opened his own real estate office in Little Neck in 1917 and four years later shifted to Flushing, where he had hir. office at Northern Boulevard and 163d St. Mr. Reeve was a member of the Queensboro Chamber of Commerce, the Long Island Real Estate Board, the Flushing United Association and the Royal Arcanum. His widow, Mrs.

Florence E. Reeve, and two daughters, Miss Florence Reeve of Little Neck and Mrs. Le-Grande Gould of Manhattan, survive. Mrs. Henriette Mack.

It is the Luckenbach pier at the foot of 35th just north of the Bush Terminal, and it is 1.739 feet long. The longest pier in Manhattan is 1.100 feet long. Maj. Francis T. O'Keefe of the Department of Docks says the Luckenbacti pier was the longest in the world when it was built in 1916 and that he doesn't know of any piers built since that time that would compare with it in length.

Gordon, 59, who retired on July 1 as general foreman of the distribution department of the Brooklyn Edison Company, died today at his home, 1150 E. 2d St. He was born in Gilletts, and lived in Brooklyn for 35 years.

He was with the Brooklyn Edison Company for 32 years. His widow, Rebecca P. Stubbs Gordon and a son, Emmet G. Gordon survive. The funeral will be held Tuesday with a requiem mass at 9:30 a.m.
