Aide Course To Start on 1 Special to the Brooklyn Eagle Sayville Bayport, Sept. 18 Women of leisure along the South Shore are gearing themselves for the increasing call for volunteer work in the many fields of the war endeavor. One of the most important projects is the latest call for nurses' aides. Mrs. Ivor S.

Conklin Bayport. chairman of the South Suffolk chapter of the Red Cross Volunteer Nurses' Aides, announces that the third class for training aides will begin on Oct. 1. Classes will be conducted by Mrs. McLaughlin, R.

who is director of the School of Nursing of the Central Islip State Hospital. The aides who study under Mrs. McLaughlin are fortunate for her school of nursing was accredited the finest in State. The South Suffolk chapter working in conthis, junction with the Babylon Town chapter, which is under the able chairmanship of Mrs. William Heath.

It is interesting to note that these combined chapters, working a unit, are the only ones to be training aides in the psychiatric field, although the work is done exclusively with the hospital sick. During week Mrs. Conklin called a meeting of the members of the committee who are enrolling volunteers. Miss Betty Anderson, daughter of Lt. and Mrs.

Guy A. Anderson, has returned to her Sayville home following a week's visit in O-Co-Nee, Bay Shore, where she was the guest of Miss Florence Picken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Picken. On Wednesday, Miss Anderson will begin her college course at Packer Collegiate Institute.

James M. Goodwin of Sayville recently was elected head of the St. Lawrence Council of the Knights of Columbus. Mrs. LeVan C.

Robinson has had as her guest at her home on W. Main St. Mrs. May H. Hammersley of Manhattan, formerly of Bayport.

Miss Anne Mead of Candee Ave. has returned for her junior year at the College of New Rochelle. Mrs. George A. Robinson and her daughter, Mrs.

Robert W. Adams, have returned to Sayville following a visit in Wilton, with Mr. and Mrs. William E. Brown, formerly of Sayville.

Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Cohalan Jr. of Sunset Drive were Mrs.

John P. Cohalan of Manhattan, Thomas Kiernan and his daughter, Miss Kiernan, of the Bronx. Miss Dolores del Castillo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rafael del Castillo of Bayport, has returned to Emmitsburg.

Paul N. Wester- Young Ladies Aid The first meeting of the season of the Brooklyn Young Ladies Aid Society was held on Tuesday at its new meeting quarters, the Plaza, Mrs. Ida Berger, president, presiding. Reports were given by officers and chairmen of affairs. In the absence of the secretary, Mrs.

Waxberg-Rosenberg Miss Helen Waxberg's engagement has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Waxberg of Raymond Rockville Centre. Miss Waxberg will wed Lt. Mortimer W.

Rosenberg this coming Winter. The lieutenant is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Armin H. Rosenberg of Jackson Heights.

Miss Waxberg received her education at an elementary school, at South Side High Schocl, Rock-' ville Centre, at Columbia University and Guggenheim School for Dental Hygienists. She is now a dental hygienist in Manhattan. Her fiance is a gradute of Flushing High School and of the West Virginia University. He is with the medical administrative division of the army air corps, stationed at Wendover Field, Utah. O'Sullivan -Einarsson The engagement of Miss Irene O'Sullivan of Shepherd Rockville Centre, has been announced by her father, Daniel J.

O'Sullivan of Manhattan and of Petersburg, Fla. Her fiance is Einar Einarsson, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. N.

Einarsson of North Long Beach Rockville Centre. Miss O'Sullivan is a graduate of St. Paul's Academy, St. Petersburg, and of the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School, Manhattan. Mr.

Einarsson was graduated from South Side High School, Rockville Centre. and attended the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics. The wedding is expected to be a May event. O'Reilly is chairman, reached its peak in production last month when they shipped abroad 300 pounds of used clothing and 409 sewn garments. A reception followed at the Franklin Arms Hotel. The bride was given in marriage by her father and her attendants were the Misses Betty Evans, maid of honor; Margaret Berkery, Betty Dalton, a Rosemary Harvey, all Brooklyn; Evelyn Huisking of Huntington, and Alice L. Mercier of Bayside. Michael Engel was best man and the ushers were Jeremiah Dalton Lt. Frank R.

Huisking, Pvt. Aidan Donnelly and Midshipman Frank J. Evans. The bride wore an ivory satin gown with a tulle veil and a seed pearl Juliet cap. The maid of honor wore wild grape velvet and the bridesmaids American Beauty velvet dresses with matching feather coronets and short veils.

The bride and her attendants all carried prayer books. Mrs. Donnelly is a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Academy, Syosset, and Manhattanville, College of the Sacred Heart. Mr. Donnelly, a graduate of Brooklyn Prep, attendpresently associated with the MetroColumbia University and is politan Life Insurance Company.
