William L. Madden, prominent physician who died suddenly on Monday at his home, 83 Glfford Jersey City, will be held tomorrow with a solemn requiem mass at St. Aloysius R. C. Church at 10 a.m.

D. Scribner, L. I. Seoul Official Services to Be Held Tonight in Huntington Huntington, May 12 Funeral services for Henry D. Scribner, for 40 years connected with the New York Telephone Company, will be held at 8:15 o'clock tonight at the family home In LaRue Drive here.

Mr. Scribner, who was 58, died In Brooklyn Hospital Monday. The Rev. William Hess, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be private.

Born in Mystic, Mr. Serib-ner was the son of Capt. David Scribner of Brooklyn, who was master of a clipper ship. His mother was Virginia Hale Scribner. Mr.

Scribner was chairman of the 1st District Suffolk County Boy Scouts of America, a director of the Huntington Bay Association, past president of the Huntington Camera Club and a member of the Brooklyn Camera Club and the T-' -phone Pioneers. urviving are his widow. Fleeing; from France, Grushow came to this country, where he felt he would be safe safe from vandals, safe to pursue his business without fear that some one would confiscate his goods. Six months ago he opened a store at 486 Sutter Ave The store, just as his business did in Paris, thrived. Then suddenly he got a visit, an unexpected visit. They came some time between 9 last night and 6:30 a.m. today. They bent back the iron bars on the rear window of the store, entered, jimmied the safe, and departed with furs valued at $5,500. The loot, consisting of 200 Persian lamb skins and two Persian lamb coats, was uninsured, Grushow told Liberty Ave. police.

The wind whipped the flames in several directions and, although a second alarm was turned in, the fire spread to buildings on either side of the tavern and to a shoe repair shop across the street. Lieutenant Muller received his civil engineering degree at Manhat tan College in 1940.
