80, of 248 9th Martin Flanagan, a former As-1 sistant Corporation Counsel here Funeral services for the Rev. Henry Francis Kastendieck. 84. retired Methodist minister, who died Saturday after a lingering illness, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Fresh Pond Crematory, Maspeth, with the Rev.

W. E. Schoonhoven, officiating. Mr. Kastendieck was educated at the Baldwin-Wallace College in Be-rea, Ohio, and was ordained in 1879.

He had served a number of Brooklyn and Long Island churches during his active ministry of 44 years. Born In Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Rev. Henry and Caroline Kolb Kastendieck and early in his career was a missionary in In mits. He held this position until his retirement. Mr.

Rush served for 19 years as president of the Mutual Aid Association of the Brooklyn Section of the National Electric Light Association and was president of the Brooklyn Edison Club for two years. His other affiliations included the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, Blizzard Club, Society of Old Brooklynites, Borough Hall Boys, Knights of Columbus, the Brooklyn Lodge of Elks, board of trustees of St. Benedict's R. C. Church and the county committee of the Kings County Democratic Club.

He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Frances Doherty, then chief telephone operator for the Brooklyn Edison Company, when they were married in 1923. York East Conference of the Meth- odist Church and served at Orient, Trinity Church, Astoria; the First! Methodist Church, Greenpoint; Simpson Church in Amityville. as well as at Floral Park, Ozone Park, East Norwich, Hampton Bays and 1 Westhampton. I Mr. Kastendieck was the brother I of the late Dr.

Miles M. Hasten- dieck. Surviving are two nephews. Miles M. Kastendieck, music critic of the Brooklyn Eagle, and Harold Kastendieck of San Francisco.

Surviving Michael Gautraud are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Addlo and Mrs Elizabeth ScardaviHc; five sons. John. George. Frank, Albert and Robert; 17 granrichilcrren ard two great-grandchildren.

James leaves a widow, Mrs. Madeline Gautraud. The father's funeral will take place Thursday morning from the chapel of Joseph G. Duffy, 237 9th thence to St. Thomas Aquinas R.

C. Church, where a requiem mass will be offered at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. The son will be buried with military honors at Pinelawn National cemetery following services at the Duffy Chapel at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday. St. and his son, James Gautraud, 53, of 107-04 112th St Richmond Hill, died suddenly of heart attacks at their respective homes within seven hours of each other, the former a few minutes before midnight Sunday and the latter Just before 7 am. yesterday. The son did not know of his father's death.

Both father and son were born In Italy and came to this country more than 45 years ago. The elder Gautraud was a retired shoemaker. The son was a veteran of the first World War, in which he saw action overseas as a member of the 77th Division. The funeral of Benjamin F. Rush, pioneer In the electric light industry In Brooklyn, who died suddenly Sunday of a heart attack at his home, 954 Herkimer will be held tomorrow morning from the Farley Funeral Parlor, 1865 Fulton St.

A requiem mass will be offered at 10 o'clock at St. Benedicts R. C. Church, Ralph Ave. and Fulton St.

Burial will be In Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Rush, who was 78, retired from the Brooklyn Edison Company In 1935 after 53 years of continuous eervice with that company and its predecessors. He had supervised the Installation of the first electric light system in the old Eagle building on lower Fulton St. In 1885.

Be ran Career in 1882 Bvrn In Manhattan, Mr. Rush spent the greater part of his life in Brooklyn. He was one of the orig- inal employes of the Citizens Electric Illuminating Company, a predecessor of the Brooklyn Edison Company, which was orgahized in 1883. He first went to work in 1882 for Pope, Sewell Co. and solicited the signatures by which that organization secured the franchise for the electric company, which started operations in 1884.

HI, etutta in rfarc In. for more than 30 years, died yesterday at 456 80th where he lived with his niece and nephew, Bessie M. and Arthur S. Hunkele Jr. He was 82.

Mr. Flanagan was active for many years in private practice before entering the city service and at one time was a member of the firm of Carr, Walsh Flanagan, his partners being the late Justice William J. Carr and Magistrate John Walsh. Mr. Flanagan was born in Brooklyn and formerly was for many years assigned to the Domestic Relations Court.

He was also active in Knights of Columbus and ths Catholic retreat movement. Mr. Flanagan is also survived by his widow. Anne Flanagan; a daughter, Elsie, and a son, William A. Flanagan.

The funeral will be held tomorrow when a solemn requiem mass will be offered at 11 a.m. at St. Anselm's R. C. Church.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. William K.Rose, 72, Really Operator hattan, died today at Caledonia Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Edris. who was a native of Jonestown, was in the clothing business In New York practically all his life, and was connected with the Friedman concern for 35 years.

He was a member of the executive committee and of the board of directors of ttie Credit Association of Clothing and Furnishings Manufactures, and a member of the credit advisory committee of Dun Bradstreet, Inc. He was also a member of Brooklyn Lodge 288, F. fe A. Evangeline Chapter 51, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Parkville Congregational Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs.

Sadie Edris; a sister, Mrs. Aimee Darcas of Fredericksburg, and two brothers, Charles H. and Myles L. Edris of Westlawn, Pa. Masonic services will be held at 7:45 p.m.

Thursday at the Fairchild Chapel, 86 Lefferts Place. Burial will take place Friday at Jonestown. Mrs. Charles Henderson Chicago, Jan. 20 (INS Mrs.

Charles Henderson, 84, great-great-granddaughter of Samuel Washington, brother of the nation's first President, was dead today. A resident of Chicago, she died in a hospital from injuries received in a fall, Dec. 19. Mrs. M.

E. Sanford Dies, Was Church Worker Mrs. Mary Ella Sanford of 7908 Ridge Boulevard, widow of Clarence R. Sanford, died Sunday night after a long illness. She was born in Brooklyn, 80 years ago, and had been a member of the New York Avenue Methodist Church for more than 30 years.

She also had been for 40 years a member of the board of managers of the Brooklyn Orphan Asylum, and had served as president of the Ladies Aid Society and of the Home Missionary Society of the New York Avenue Church. A son, C. Eliot Sanford, survives. Services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Fairchild Chapel, 86 Lefferts Place.

Weeks, who died Saturday at his home in Buckram Heights after a long Illness, will take place this afternoon at the Dodge Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Burial will be in the Locust Valley Cemetery. Mr. Weeks, who was 73, was a member of the Weeks family that settled in this community several generations ago and owned the famous landmark, the Weeks Hotel, now known as the Camlnari Hotel. Rose Company, real estate operators, dropped dead of a heart attack yesterday afternoon at 44th St. and 5th Manhattan, 1 whiie on his way to his office at 45 W. 45th St. He was 72. Mr.

He was a son of the late Town-send B. and Sarah Wansor Weeks and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nellie D. Weeks, formerly of Brooklyn; three sons, Townsend John and Edward, and three dauehters, Dorothy, Helen and Beatrice Weeks. replacing carbons, cleaning the dynamos in the generating station and making a nightly tour of inspection to see that the lights were all burning.

He served in various bureaus of the operating department until 1907, when he was appointed to represent the company at the Board of Fire Underwriters and city departments in securing per ers, Joseph, John, Edward and Charles, and four sisters, Cecelia, Isabel Sand, Rose Burns and Elizabeth Eifler, was graduated from Harvard magna cum laude in 1890 and won his law degree from the Harvard Law School three years later.
