papers please ROGERS HARRY suddenly, on Thursday, January 18th, 1936, beloved husband of Margaret E. (nee Parry) father of Margaret Wilcox, grandfather of Audrey Robb and brother of F.rlaar Rosen Mem ber of r.rpmsiwt IjvIm No sro I 1 i i 1 1 1 Wins Approval Of Bishop Stires Indorses Round Robin gainst Con -t''ra lion of Eastern Gnirrhman In a reply to a round robin letter iddreased by seven bishops to mem bers of the House of Bishops of the Episcopal Church, protesting against the consecration of Dr. John Torok suffragan bUfeop of Eatt Claire, the Rt. Rev. Ernest Mllmore Stlree.

Bishop of Long Island, said today that the facte stated In the letter were correct and that he ap proved of the protest. According to a previous letter sent in December to the Rt. Rev. James De Wolf Perry, Presiding Bishop, the protest against the consecration of Dr. Torok was based largely upon the form of consecration as not being in accordance to the rules ot the Episcopal Church and "in a ceremony never before held In an American Episcopal Church." The original protest was made by Bishop William T.

Manning of New York. Bishop Alexander Mann of Pittsburgh and Bishop John Ward of Erie, Pa. The present round robin, dated Jan. IS, Include also the Bishops of Indianapolis, Colorado, Albany and New Jersey. Protested Fund-Raking The first letter carried In addition to the protest against the form ol consecration reference to an Investigation of a fund-raising program In Pittsburgh concerning which the Slovak Society of Pittsburgh protested.

Dr, Torok was consecrated as a Bishop of the Eastern Orthodox Church In 1924 by Bishop Gorazl of Czechoslovakia and Bishop DoslteJ of Serbia. He was born in Hungary March 26, 1800. The service consecrating him as suffragan bishop of Eau Claire was held last Nov. 17, In the Cathedral Church of that diocese. It is the vaMdlty of Dr.

Torek's original consecration that is challenged as being of the Greek Church and not of the American Episcopal Church, making him thus ineligible for the office of suffragan bishop and formal acceptance as a Bishop oi tne Episcopal cnurcn in the United States of America. Membership in the House of Bishops has been refused by two triennial conventions. The present letter requests BishoD Wilson of Eau Claire to give assurance that Dr. Torok will not per form any Episcopal acts until his status Is reviewed, and promises that a special convocation of the House of Bishops will be called to conduct an Investigation.
