M. Williams, 75, Volunteer Fireman Auditor of OKI Town of Flatbufeh Vice President of Southern Tier Vamps Frederick M. Williams, for many years active in volunteer fire department affairs and auditor of the old Town of Flatbuih, died today in ha home, 20 Wellington Court. Born In Germany 75 years ago, Mr. Williams came to this country as a lad with his parents.

He came to Brooklyn later and for 53 years lived in Flatbush. Mr. Williams Joined Windsor Hot Company 3, and when the city department came In became one of the original members of th; Flatbush Volunteer Firemen's I Miss A. McCrossen Miss Anna R. McCrossen.

for the last nine years a teacher at P. S. 39, died yesterday in her home, 1073 McBride St, Far Rockaway. She was a lifelong resident of that community and a graduate of the Jamaica Training School for Teachers. Miss McCrossen was a member of the Queens boro Teacher Association.

A requier mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning in St. Mary Star of the Sea R. C. Church. Far Rockaway, with Interment in Holy Crass Cemetery.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. McCrossen, three sisters, Genevieve. Dorothy and Marjorie, and a brother, Edward H.

R. Mrs. G. B. Kanno, Noted Sculptress Wife of Japanese Poet Is Buried on Coast Lived for Years in Borough Special fo The Eagle San Francisco, Aug.

17 Mrs. Gertrude Boyle Kanno, famous American sculptress and the wife of Takeshi Kanno, Japanese poet-philosopher, was buried here privately today. She died Saturday in St. John's Hospital, where she was rushed last week on her arrival from Japan. She was stricken with a heart attack en route from the Orient.

The diminutive poet was grief-stricken at her death. Their marriage in 1907, on the sands of Alki Point, across Puget Sound from Seattle, created a sensation in the Western world. They were refused a license to marry in California. The Kannos were well known In Brooklyn, where they lived for many years at 4407 4th Ave. Mrs.

Kanno frequently exhibited her work in the Brooklyn Museum. In 1929, she modeled a bust of Dr. J. Herbert Low, then nrincirl of Erasmus Hall James A. Renwick, Ex-Laivyer, Dies Former Flushing Social Leader, Sportsman, Was Brevoort Descendant Special to The Eagle Hillsdale, N.

Aug. 17-Privat funeral services were being arranged here today for James A. Renwlck, wealthy sportsman, retrred attorney and one-time leader in Queens social circles. Mr. Renwlck, who was 81, died at his farm near here Sunday.

Mr. Renwlck, who was a descendant of the Brevoorts, one of the first families to settle In Greenwich Village, was born at 21 5th the house In which Mark Train lived shortly before his death. He was graduated from Columbia University at the age of 20 and passed his law course three years later. Early In his legal career he moved to Flushing, Queens, where his home at 19 Bowne St. marked the spot where Richard Fox, Quaker leader, delivered his historic address.

Horse Show Exhibitor Active In political affairs, Mr. Renwlck soon became the recognized leader of Flushing social life and built up a following among Long Island sportsmen through his stable of saddle and harness horses, which he frequently displayed at Madison Square Garden shows. He created a stir in his social set 25 years ago when he suddenly married Miss Anna R. Cooper, unknown office assistant, about a year after the death of his first wife, the former Viola Blodgett. Mr.

Renwick served for a time as president of the village of Flushing before It was merged with Greater New York. Active Club Member He was formerly president of the Niantlc Club of Flushing and of the Queens and Nassau Agricultural Society. He also was a prominent member of the Meadowbrook Hunt Club, the Union League and the City Club and an active worker for the North Shore Horse Show Association. He was the son of James Renwick. architect of St.

Patrick's in Manhattan. For the past 25 years he lived near Hillsdale although he maintained his Interest in New York politics. He Is survived by his widow, Anna Rebecca Renwick, and two nephews, Harold and Robert Sedgwick of Baier. Mary Bedwell. EX-MAKINE DIES Theodore Von Tanhausen, who served with the corps in the "90s, and who had been employed in recent years at the Half Moon Hotel, died at the age of 77. His funeral services will be tonight. John Hynes, Active In Irish Groups John William Hynes, for 50 years a resident of Brooklyn and long devoted to the Irish nationalistic cause, died Sunday in his home, 437 3d after a long illness. Mr.

Hynes was born in County Mayo. He maintained his association with his native land through membership in the Clan-na-Gael and the Robert Emmet Club connected with it, and in the Irish Republican Brotherhood of New York. He was a member also of the Third Order of St. Dominic and the Holy Name Society of the Church of St. Francis Xavicr, 6th Ave.

Mr. Brody, who was 60, was one of the teachers of the late George Gershwin. The latter had sung in a choir conducted by Mr. Brody, who for 35 years had composed music for many well known Jewish stage stars including Jacob Adler, Boris Thomas-hefsky and David Kessler. At the time of his death, Mr.

Brody was choirmaster at the Monte- flore Congregation in the Bronx. An authority on Jewish liturgical music, he had composed many sacred songs. Born In Russia, he came to this country a half-century ago. He was associated with Ccitor Rosenblatt from 1925 to 1930. Funeral services were to be held this afternoon in the chapel, 153 East Boradway, Manhattan, with in terment following in Beth David Cemetery.

In addition to his widow, Mrs. Bessie Brody, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Oscar H. Alexander, the former Estelle Brody of the mo tion picture stage, and Jeanette Brody; four sons. Philip, Harry, Murray and Bernard; a brither.

Hickey, 80, Former Alderman Patchogue. Aug. 17 A mass will be offered at 10 am. tomorrow at St. Frances de Sales Roman Catholic Church here for John J.

Hickey, one-time lone Democratic member of the Board of Aldermen from the Bronx, who died at his Patchogue home yesterday. He had spent 28 of his 80 years in or near this town. He became 111 several weeks ago in Sayville, where he was a timekeeper for the State Highway Department. Shortly after his arrival from Ire land 57 years ago, Mr. Hickey became active In Democratic circles and had malntanled his interest in Democratic politics In the Bronx and Suffolk County until his death.

He is survived by three daughters. Mrs. John Sanial of Brooklyn, Mrs. Andrew Beers of East Moriches and Mrs. George Norton of Hempstead; two sons, Eugene and Walter T.

Hickey of New York City; a brother, the Rev. Joseph Hickey of Balbriggan, Ireland; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
