Greek Letter Clubs TAU Fill SIGMA Psl Chapter, Tau Phi Sigma Sorority, held Its first meeting of the season at the home of Miss Rita Braguglia, 1404 59th St. The following members were elected to office for the coming year: Miss Rita Braguglia, president; Miss Helen Geoghan, vice president; Miss Helen C.

KAPPA TAU LAMBDA Omicron Chapter of Kappa Tau Lambda Fraternity has elected the following officers to serve for the fiscal year October, 1936, to October, 1937: Stephen Mullaney, president; John Schellens, vice president; Joseph McArdle, treasurer, and Edward Radigan, secretary. Omicron Chapter will hold Its first social event of the season, a stag party, at the Green Lantern Inn today. SIGMA PHI KAPPA "The first meeting of the season of Sigma Phi Kappa Sorority was held at the home of Miss Marjorie McCormack recently.

Mrs. John Sherwood Martin, newly elected president, presided. A theater party is planned for Thanksgiving weekend. Miss Gena Latorraco was elected chairman of the Fall theater party. THETA NU Delta Chapter of Theta Nu Sorority held its first meeting at the home of Mrs.

Dorothy Anderson recently. The officers elected were the Misses Grace Reilly, president; Augusta Ahrens, vice president; Anita Jaeger, secretary; Maude Smith, treasurer, and Betty Fackler, recording secretary. TAU PHI SIGMA Sigma Chapter of Tau Phi Sigma Sorority had its first gathering of the Fall at the home of Miss Helen Masse, 8019 Colonial Road, last week. Those present were the Misses Mary Garvey, Marie Gallagher, Dorothy Murphy, Kay Mc-Cusker, Alice O'Leary, Santa Pellegrino, Marie Sabbatino and Loretta Smith. The new officers are Miss Helen Masse, president; Miss Frances Vaughan, vice president; Miss Doris Schwitter, treasurer, and Miss Alice O'Leary, secretary.

DELTA PHI SIGMA A meeting of the Delta Phi Sigma sorority, Upsilon chapter, was -held at Miss Josephine Murray's home Tuesday. The following members were present: Misses Ruth Connor, president; Jean Huggins, recording secretary; Ethel Grech, corresponding secretary; Mae Pollitt, treasurer; Gladyce Laman, Betty Hodges, Josephine Murray and Dorothy Cabbie, pledgee. Arthur J. Ariel of Princeton St, Rockville Centre, announce the engagement of their daughter. Miss May Virginia Ariel, to Harold J. Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Percy W. Moore of Pelham Parkway, Manhattan. Miss Ariel is a graduate of Erasmus Hall and the Woman's Art School of New York City. The wedding will take place Dec. 12.

CARD PARTY COMMITTEES At a recent meeting of the Ave Maria Mission Club, held at the home of Miss Maude Leonard, 23 Lafayette Miss Margaret A. Cloughessy, president, appointed Miss Lillian McCaffrey, chairman of the Junior Committee at the card party which the club is sponsoring on Saturday afternoon in the auditorium of the Brooklyn Edison Company. The proceeds will benefit the Jesuit Seminarian Fund, of which Rev. George J. Wlllmann, S.J., is procurator.

Father Willmann, who is scheduled to return to the work in the Philippines immediately after the party, will be the guest of honor. Assisting Miss McCaffrey will be WIDOWS ORPH NS RELIEF A Hallowe'en luncheon, card party and fashion show sponsored by the Women's Aid Society for the Relief of Widows and Orphans, of which Mrs. Frederick A. Muschenheim Is president, will be held in the new ballroom of Hotel Astor, Manhattan, Thursday, Oct. 29, at 12 o'clock noon.

Founded here in 1844, the organization provides food, shelter and clothing to selected individuals and families taken into its care. Mrs. Thomas Young is committee chairman. LESOFF GURYAN Announcement has been made by Dr. and Mrs.

M. J. Lesoff of Far Rockaway of the engagement of their daughter, Miss Evelyn Lesoff, to Seymour Guryan of Manhattan. Both attended Cornell University. Mkss Lesoff attended Far Rockaway High School and Mr.

45th and Werner A. Rosen-baum of E. 39th Brooklyn, took place yesterday at the Norwegian Lutheran Trinity Church, the Rev. S. O.

Sigmond officiating. The bride had her sister, Mrs. William Sagarin as her only attendant, and Thomas Ward was best man. Miss Christofersen wore a gown of sapphire blue velvet. She wore a picture hat to match the gown, and a corsage of white roses.

A reception followed at the Hotel St. George. Mr. Rosenbaum is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Clements Rosenbaum of Dresden. Germany. He and his bride left for Atlantic City. When they return, they vill live at 1685 E. 45th St.

HADASSAH NEWS Because of more intensified work and several important and outstanding events that will take place this month, the board meeting of the Brooklyn Chapter of Hadassah held on Monday at the Johnston Building, 12 Nevins was unusually large. Over 100 chairmen of various activities attended, representing all the 23 groups of the chapter, which are located in every section of the borough. Mrs. Isidor Taub, president, announced that a large delegation will represent the Brooklyn Chapter at the 22d Annual Hadassah Convention which will be held at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel, Philadelphia, from Oct. 18 to 21.

Mrs. Adolf Slomka, chairman of the Rothschild-Hadassah-University Hospital Building Fund, Brooklyn Division, reported that final preparations are being completed for the Victory Tea that will take place on Monday, Oct, 26, at the Hotel St. George. This tea is the culmination of the brick campaign that the Brooklyn Chapter had launched during the Summer and is being given to the active participants of TR.UTM ANN SHIELDS Mr. and Mrs.

The proceeds of the affair are for the Maryknoll Sisters assisting Bishop Ford in the province of Kaying, China. Quirk of St. Petersburg, left Raymond, DELTA DELTA DELTA Formal rush parties have been in progress at Adelphi College this week and will continue until Oct. 18 when Delta Delta Delta sorority will hold the final informal tea, which will close all Pan-Hellenic activities until the various sorority bids are issued.

Among the parties this past week was that of Delta Delta Delta, when Miss Elise Blass of Kew Gardens was hostess to 27 rushees and 43 active and alumnae members of Alpha Alpha Chapter at dinner. ZETA OMEGA rill The first meeting of the Delta Chapter, of the Zeta Omega Phi Sorority was held In the home of Miss Frances Miller, 322 Arlington Ave. Plans for an informal dance to be held in November were discussed. TAU PHI SIGMA Tau Phi Sigma Sorority, recently held its first board of governors meeting of the season at the Towers Hotel. The supreme officers for the coming year are Miss Ida Smith, president; Miss Doris R. Schwitter, vice president; Miss Marie V. Sabbatino, treasurer; Miss Dorothy Murphy, assistant treasurer; Miss Loretta Smith, secretary, and Miss Santa Pellegrino, assistant secretary. Plans for the coining year were discussed and Miss Rita Bragulia of Psi Chapter was selected as chairman for the Winter dance.

The next board meeting will take place at the Towers on Oct. 19. BETA OMEGA Epsilon Chapter of Beta Omega Sorority met at the home of Miss Agnes McDonough recently. Those present were the Misses Violet Prince, Virginia MacNeil, Anne Shine, Agnes Morrell, Margaret Sullivan, Alicia Weber, Mary McDonough, Agnes McDonough and Adele Mesiti. Miss Rita Medlin was initiated.

Plans lor a formal dance on Friday, Nov. 13. at the Ritz Tower were made. Miss Agnes Morrell is the new treasurer. of St.

Francis Xavier will be cele brated Thursday when the golden Jubille of the church and the 60th anniversary of the Rt. Rev. Mons. David J. Hickey as a priest will be observed.

Mons. Hickey, who founded the parish, is vicar general of the diocese and several years ago was honored a second time by His Holiness in being appointed Prothono-tary Apostalic. The jubilee festivities will begin with a pontifical high mass at 11 o'clock today in St. Francis Vavier Church in celebration of Mons. Hickey's 60th anniver sary of ordination in the priesthood.

Twelve hundred members of the clergy, the religious sisters and brothers, the pewholders and personal friends of the Jubilarian in and out of the parish will be present. Following the mass Mons. Hickey will entertain as his guests at luncheon at the Columbus Club several hundred priests of the diocese. On Thursday evening the main social event will take place in the form of a reception and dinner and also will be held at the Columbus Club. Among those who have table reservations are Mr.

ANNUAL CONVENTION The annual convention of the New York Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy, was held at the George Washington Hotel, Manhattan, Thursday.

At the morning session, presided over by the president, Mrs. Elise L. Lewis, the following officers were elected to serve for the ensuing two years: President, Mrs. Henry William Ray-ner; first vice president, Mrs. R.

W. Jones; second vice president, Mrs. J. L. Cecil; third vice president.

Miss Desiree Franklin; recording secretary, Mrs. Philip Clancy; corresponding secretary, Mrs. William Field Hackett (re-elected); treas-urere, Mrs. Elise L. Lewis; historian, Mrs.

Alexander J. Feild. Following the election the reports of officers were read, after which there was an adjournment for luncheon. The convention reconvened at 2 p.m. when reports were read by chairmen of standing committees and special committees with directors of Mrs.

LEAGUE NEWS Brooklyn Philanthropic League, United Order True Sisters, gave a tea to members of the Grand Lodge and to the leaders of all the subsidiaries of the various Brooklyn lodges recently. Mrs. Carrie Hollender, president of the New York Philanthropic League, spoke of the constructive work of the Brooklyn League which for the past 12 years has maintained a Settlement House at 316 S. 5th Williamsburg, where they have an approximate attendance of 1,600 children each week, who receive religious, cultural and athletic training as well as medical and dental care. The meetings of the league are held at the Plaza, 350 Flatbush Avenue Extension, on the first Wednesday of every month.

On Oct. 22 the league will hold a pledge luncheon at the Hotel St. Moritz, Manhattan. Mrs. Gertrude Levine is chairman.

The proceeds will go toward the purchase of larger quarters. Mrs. Benjamin Am-merman is president of the league. GRY'NWALD WEBER The wedding of Miss Eleanor Helen Weber and Walter Norman Grynwald took place last evening in St. James Church, Elmhurst.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Lawson Willard in the presence of a few friends. Miss Weber was given in marriage by her father and wore a wine velvet empire dress with a matching cap, and carried talisman roses. Her only attendant was her sister, Miss Mildred Weber. Frederick Korfmann was best man.

The bride was graduated in 1933 from Wells College. Mr. Grynwald received his degree from Colgate University in 1931, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Rainbow Room, Rockefeller Center, New York. AUTUMN DANCE The Alumnae of St.

Joseph's Commercial High School, 342 Bridge will hold their annual Autumn dance at the Granada Hotel on Friday, Oct. 23. Bryan will reside in Bay Ridge. CLAREBROOK CLUB The Clarebrook Club of Flatbush, a recently organized civic and social club having for its purpose the bet-. terment of conditions and promotion of friendly neighborhood spirit in the Clarendon Road and Brook lyn Ave. section, opened its Fall season Wednesday evening at Alfred Wilson Post, American Legion. The guest speaker was William O'Dwyer, Magistrate of the Adolescent Court.
