I Mrs. McCloskey, Policeman's Widow Mrs. Winifred Jeffries McCloskey, widow of Police Capt. John J. (Iron Man) McCloskey, died Friday night at her home, 7104 4th after a brief illness.

Prior to moving to Bay Ridge she lived for many years in Flatbush. Captain McCloskey, who won the name "Iron in his 40 years as Mapolicecause, was never, absent for a tour of duty, 1935. MULLANE, 22, DIES OF BATTLE WOUNDS Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mullane of 201 E. 43d that their son, Daniel James Mullane, 22, seaman 2d class, first reported missing, died July 5 of wounds received while in action in the South Pacific. With him on the same ship was his brother, Francis, who though badly wounded, recovered, and later returned home on a furlough.
