HALSEY DIES, SUFFOLK CO. REPUBLICAN Westhampton Beach, April 27- Benjamin Halsey, chairman many years of the Suffolk County Board of Supervisors and Supervisor of the Town of Southampton from 1920 to 1930, died here Monday after a prolonged illness. He was 76 and one of the most colorful figures in Suffolk County Republican circles. native of East Moriches, Mr. Halsey spent this entire life in that section.

He served for 15 years as special agent for the New York State Excise Department, and then for several years was Republican John H. Guion, Ex- Fire Captain A solemn mass of requiem was offered today in the R. C. Church of Our Lady of Angels, 4th Ave. and 73d for John H.

Guion, a retired captain of the Fire Department, who 'died Saturday in his home, 7201 4th Ave. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Mr. Guion, who had been with the department 29 years, was with Hook and Ladder Company 143, Queens, when he retired in 1923.

For the last 201 years he had been employed in the offices of Henry Clews brokers, Manhattan. His wife, Mary Guion, died in 1937. He is survived by a daughter, Florence, and two sons, John and Lawrence, the latter with the armed forces. "Linking" cards which bind the consumer to a particular retailer for the purchase sugar and bread are required in Palestine in connection with rationing. Folker, Veteran Skipper Of Brooklyn-Puerto Rico Run Word was received here yesterday of the death Saturday at his home in Hantsport, Nova Scotia, of Capt. Fred W. Folker, who was master of several ships for the New York Puerto Rico Line during his 40 years at sea until his in 1939.

He was 64 and years retirement, lived at the home of his sister, Mrs. Whidden Harvey, 1148 E. 38th Brooklyn, wife of Captain Harvey, also master of a New York Puerto Rico Line ship. Among the ships commanded by Captain Folker were the Borinquen, Carolina, Ponce, Brazos, San Juan, San Lorenzo and Coamo. As master of the Coamo in 1936 1 he had the distinction of sailing the first David Benjamin, Brooklyn Florist Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

tomorrow for David Benjamin, Brooklyn florist, who died of a heart attack Sunday at his home, 2620 Avenue J. The Rev. Charles W. Roeder, pastor of the Flatlands Reformed Church, will officiate. The burial will be in Green- Wood Cemetery.

Born in Brooklyn 66 years ago, Mr. Benjamin went to work when a young man in the florist shop of James Weir at Fulton and Pierrepont and 30 years ago opened his own establishment at Farragut Road and Flatbush Ave. Fifteen years ago he moved the establishment to its present address at 1583 Flatbush near Brooklyn College. He was a member of Fortitude Lodge, F. A.

Fitzgerald, Wife of Physician Mother of Attorney And Boro Teacher Mrs. Genevieve C. Fitzgerald, wife of Dr. Frank J. Fitzgerald, who has been practicing medicine in Brooklyn for nearly 50 years, died yesterday in her home, 263 Hancock St.

She had been in poor health about ten years. She was born in Manhattan, the daughter of Michael J. Sullivan, then a member of the Board of Education. She moved with her parents to Brooklyn when a child. After attending the old Public School 15 on 3d Ave.

and Girls High School she studied to become a teacher at the Nativity Academy. While there she met Dr. Fitzgerald and they were married June 26, 1895. Also surviving are a son, Harold J. Fitzgerald, an attorney; a daughter, Genevieve, a teacher in Eastern District High School, and a sister, Mrs.

Punish Manufacturer For Ignoring WPB Order The Rayjay Manufacturing Company, of 109 N. 3d has been penalized for three months for violating the WPB orders and regulations governing the manufacture and sale of electric fuses, it was announced today, The firm is charged with illegally selling and delivering approximately 700,000 electric fuses on orders without preference ratings. The WPB order restricts the use of copper and its alloys in the manufacture of electric fuses as well as the sale of such articles.

He also was supervisor of highways of Southampton for several years. In 1928 as head of the Southampton Board of Health he clashed with the Long Island Railroad over its order to close depots and waiting rooms daily at 6 p.m., holding that the company in so doing was not keeping faith with its advertising in trying to develop Long Island. Mr. Halsey is survived by four sons, Harold Willard Wilmont B. and Andrew J.

Learning the printing trade at an early age, Mr. Gannon, who was born 1 in N. worked first the Government Printing Office in Washington and then worked for 17 years with the old Brooklyn Standard Union. He went to the Law Journal 20 years ago. He was a member of the Typo Club of Brooklyn.

Surviving are his widow, Alice Murray Gannon; two sons, Edward J. and George two granddaughters and a brother, Richard Gannon of Bridgeport, Conn. Burial will be in Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bridgeport. Subsequently, in recognition of his having proved that the untried port was of sufficient size and depth to berth large liners, he was decorated with the Order of Merot Juan Pablo Duarte. A native of Hantsport, Captain Folker followed in the footsteps of his father, William Folker, the master of a sailing vessel, becoming a seaman at an early age. He was made a captain when 28 and served in that capacity until his retirement. Surviving are his widow, Grace Folker; a young son, Fred, of Hantsport, and a brother, Thomas (Tid) Folker. Mrs.

Carrie McHugh Mrs. Carrie McHugh, 73, died Sunday in her home, 6076 70th Ridgewood. She was born in Ridgewood and had lived in Brooklyn all her life. She was active in the work of the Sacred Heart Sodality of St. Matthias R.

C. Church, Catalpa Ave. near Woodward Ave, where a solemn requiem mass will be offered for her at 10 a.m. day. The burial will be in St.

Commodore Luckenbach, who was 76, returned to his home two weeks ago after having been a patient for more than a month in Doctors Hospital, New York. He also had been a patient there previously. Born in Kingston, N.

Commodore Luckenbach early became associated with the steamship line which his father, the late Lewis Luckenbach, founded in 1850. He became its president in 1913 and continued as such during World War when freighters of this line transported to Europe and back tens of thousands of American troops and supplies. Under modore Luckenbach's direction ships, of this line went back into the nation's service at the outbreak of the present war. Known as the dean of American shipping, Mr. Luckenbach was an implacable foe of American railroads, which he accused of attempting to choke all competition, especially intercostal A familiar figure in yachting circles, he also was widely known, too, as a breeder of championship horses.
