E. S. Leader Miss Augusta D. Tiedemann, 37, of 93 17 211th Hollis, daughter of Frederick C. and Anna Tiedemann and conductress of Dunton Chapter 728.

O. E. died yesterday. Born in Brooklyn, she had lived In Queens for the last 30 years. She was a member of St.

Paul's Lutheran Church on 129th Richmond Hill. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a brother, Frederick C. and four slters, Cornelia, Helen, Florence and Marion. Eastern Star and religious services will be held tomorrow at 9 p.m. in Eisner's Funeral Home, 127 06 Liberty Richmond Hill.

Mr. Biedermann would have been 82 in April and had been 111 since Jan. 1. Until his retirement about 13 years ago. Mr.

Biedermann had been in business at 72 Tompkins Ave. for about 50 years. His firm also had a branch for a time on Water Manhattan. For the last 25 years he had been spending hU Winters in Florida. In Masonic Lodge 50 Year Born in Germany, Mr.

Biedermann came to this country at the age of 17 and lived in Brooklyn for most of his life thereafter. He had been a member of Euclid Lodge 656, F. fe A. for more than 50 years, and of the Brooklyn Ethical Culture Society for more than 25 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs.

Wilhemina E. Biedermann: three sons, Ferdinand Arno W. and Harry Biedermann, and three daughters, Mrs. Louise Schneider, Mrs. Augusta Krummel and Mrs.

Constantlne. of 116 7th Road, Broad Channel. Otto Kafka, 59, Steel Exporter Was Formerly Partner Of T. C. duPont Sued Mexico for $2,500,000 Otto Kafka, 59, a prominent fig ure in the steel exporting business for many years, died yesterday at his home, 216 09 40th Bayside.

He was president of Otto Kafka, 50 Broad Manhattan. A native of Bohemia, Mr. Kafka came to this country in 1905. He is survived by his widow, Alice M. Kafka and six children, Otto Robert, Philip, John, Clara and Charles.

In 1916 Mr. Kafka formed the American Steel Export Company and the Vulcan Steel Products Company, in association with Gen. T. Coleman du Pont, and continued with the firms until 1919. Later he engaged in business for himself.

In 1922 he sued the Mexican Gov ernment, claiming $2,500,000 damages for breach of contract to purchase $20,000,000 of railway supplies. The suit was quashed later in United States District Court, when it was ruled that invalid service had been made on Adolfo de la Huerta, Minister of Finance of Mexico, and that the suit would have to be brought in Mexican courts. Mrs.LM.Perry,91, Of Pioneer Family Special to the Brooklyn Eagle Bayville, March 25 Funeral serv ices were conducted today at the home of Mrs. Lucinda Merritt Perry, 91, of Perry Ave, Bayville, who died there Wednesday. Death was attributed to old age.

The Rev. Alexander Martin, rector of the Bayville Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Bay ville Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Clara Perry, who lived with her mother, and Mrs. Albert W.

Flower of Bayville; five grandchildren and six great chil dren. The dauehter of Amos and Rebec ca Merritt, Mrs. Perry was born and raised in Bayville. The Merritt family was among the first settlers in the community. Her husband, Thomas Hazard Perry, who died 22 years ago, was a descendant of Commodore Perry of Lake Erie fame.

Although a life long resident of Bayville Mrs. Perry mingled little in the affairs of the village. She belonged to no organizations. Funeral Rites Today For Allan P. Turner Funeral services for Allan Pendle ton Turner, assistant auditor of the American Tobacco Company, will be held today in his residence, 146 27 Beech Flushing, where he died Thursday of a heart attack.

Burial will take place tomorrow in Rich mond. Va. Mr. Turner, who was born in Rich mond, became associated with the American Tobacco Company 34 years ago after working for the Chesapeake Ohio Railroad and the Old Do minion Steamship Company. He was also vice president and treasurer of the Tobacco Company of the Orient adn vice president of the American Suppliers Company.

Surviving are his widow, the for mer Josephine Louise Delaney: two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Hundley of Richmond end Mrs. John Vaughn of San Dieeo.

and two brothers. J. M. Turner of Hampton, and J. R.

Turner of Warrick Courthouse, V. erly Road and E. 17th St. Although his career In public office was confined to the year 1910, Mr. Driscoll, who was 56, became widely known as "the steam engine in boots" through strenuous cam paigns to stamp out short weight lng and to solve the city's vice problem.

Was Journal City Editor A native of the lower East Side of Manhattan, the son of Timothy and Elizabeth Driscoll, he entered the newspaper business at an early age and rose to the positions of classified advertising manager and city editor of the old Evening Jour nal. Early in 1910 Mr. Driscoll began writing a series of articles on city affairs, many of them unfavorable to the Gaynor administration. Nevertheless, the Mayor singled him out when it became imperative a short time later to "reform" the office of weights and measures. With only 17 assistants the new commissioner went to work with such zest and enthusiasm that it was but a few months before, as he put it, "a pound weighed 16 ounces and a quart contained two pints" in stores throughout the city.

Was Terror to Gamblers It was then that Mr. Driscoll was transferred to the Police Department, taking charge of the uniformed force and the vice squad. Although he remained in that post but two months, he created a veri tabel reign of terror among operators of pool rooms and gambling and vice dens. Previously he had been active as president of the Council of Local School Boards and in the East Side Pure Milk League. Later he Joined the New York Bureau of Social Research, and for the last 20 years had been executive director of the American Lace Manufacturers Association in Manhattan.

He was an organizer and former president of the Men's Club and Ushers Association of Holy Innocents Church, where he was married on June 30, 1914, to Miss Elizabeth Nolan, who survives. Other survivors are three sons, Clement J. Eugene J. and Edmond J. Driscoll, and a sister.

Miss Dorothy Driscoll of Manhattan. Mrs. A. Magowan Rites at St. Peter's Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.

Monday with a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Peter's R. C. Church for Mrs. Annie Conlan Magowan, 73, a resident of the old 6th Ward for more than 70 years, who died Thursday after a short illness.

She was the widow of James Magowan and lived at 1447 E. 14th Street. Mrs. Magowan was active In a number of Catholic charitable organizations. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Conlan and was baptized and married in St, Peter's Church.

She was educated at St. Peter's Academy. A daughter, Mrs. Nana Manning, and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Walsh, survive.

The funeral will be held from the home of her daughter, 931 President St. The mass will be offered by the Rev. Thomas E. Manning. The deacon will be the Rev.

William Twoomey and the subdeacon the Rev. Joseph Sheridan. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Capt. E.

C. Parry, Veteran Fireman Fire Capt. Edward C. Parry of 53 Hull commander of Engine Company 35, at 223 E. 119th Manhattan, died yesterday after noon In the New York Hospital of pneumonia after an operation for a throat ailment.

He was 51. Captain Parry was born in Brook lyn, a son of the late William H. Parry, former United States Marshal, who died in 1935, and Mar garet L. Parry. He was appointed to the Fire Department Aug.

12, 1910, and was assigned to Engine Com pany 221. He became lieutenant of Engine Company 221 in 1924 and was advanced to a captaincy March 1, 1938. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret A. Parry, and a daughter.

He had previously served as grand vice regent. Last October Mr. Anderson was tendered a testimonial dinner by the grand council officers of the Royal Arcanum at the Hotel Astor, Manhattan, which was attended by many persons of prominence. Bonomi; Expert on Law Mrs. Bessie Gurnee Bonomi, law research worker and editor, who was co author of Carmody's "New York Pleading and Practice," died yester day in the Long Island College Hos. pital, where she underwent an operation four weeks ago. She was 44 and lived at 189 11 Lewiston St. Albans.

Mrs. Bonomi, who was descended from Colonial stock, was born In Brooklyn, daughter of Eugene A. and Katherine Debaun Gurnee. Her father was formerly treasurer of the New York Telephone Company. A brilliant student, she was graduated from Cornell University with BA and M.A.

degrees and later from the Brooklyn Law School, where she was graduated magna cum laude. Spent Little Time in Practice Mrs. Bonomi did not spend much of her time in the active practice of law, preferring to devote herself to editorial work. She did a large amount of research work for the late Dr. Francis X.

Carmody and later revised their book which is a standard work on pleading and practice. She also was the editor of Bender's Forms for the Consolidated Laws, Bender's Forms for the New York Civil Practice Acts and other legal publications. She was a member of the American Bar Association. She was married in 1922 to Felix A. Bonomi, an engineer with the Bell Telephone Laboratories.

Besides her husband and her parents, she is survived by two children, John Gurnee Bonomi and Eugenie Katherine Bonomi and a brother, Debaun Gurnee.
