Navy Yard Boys' Club Sets Date for Dance The 16th annual danc for the benefit of the Boys Club of the Navy Yard District will be held Dec. 20 at the Hotel Bossert, It was' announced at a meeting of a committee held at the club. Cavanagh, managing director, reported that the organiza tion has been serving the social, educational and recreational needs I ofthe boys since 1926. Dr. Patrick I i tfw -i tr Brooklyn College to Organize Civilian Defense Committee Dr. Koplowitz Dr. Abraham Koplowitz was honored by the East New York Medical Society for his "many years of service" to the group at Its annual beefsteak party last night in Oet-Jen's Restaurant, Church and Flat-bush Aves.

Invited guests were Dr. Maurice J. Dattelbaum, president of the Kings County Medical Society, and Dr. William F. Meagher, president elect of that body.

More than 250 persons attended. Dr. Louis H. Ra-din was chairman. Dr.

William Levine Is president of the society, which was founded in 1911. Other officers are Dr. Morris Ant, vice president; Dr. Max Dan- nenberg, treasurer, and Dr. Harry Beller, secretary.

THE HILL 88th P'ct. Council Holds Annual Show The 88th Precinct Neighborhood Council held its fifth annual entertainment and dance at the Masonic Temple on Clermont Ave. last Friday evening. The program, provided by the children of the community, was performed under the direct supervision of Capt. William O.

Jones and Miss Eloise Piersol, recreation director of the Juvenile Aid Bureau. Following the show, Deputy Police Commissioner John H. Morris, representing Mayor LaGuardia and Police Commissioner Valentine, spoke briefly of the accomplishments of the council in the last five years. Deputy Commisisoner Morris is honorary president of the council. President Edward H.

Johns and Past Presidents Louis Drago and Harold Anderson also were called upon to speak. The surprise of the evening was the appearance of Bill Robinson, famous Negro dancer, who thrilled the audience with his tap routines. Will Hold Card Party To Raise Camp Funds The Parent-Teacher Association of Public School 221, Empire Boulevard near Troy will hold its annual benefit card party on Saturday night in the school. Proceeds will go to a fund used to send under-privileged children to camp during the Summer. The association is now conducting recreational activities for adults In the school gymnasium.
