STANISLAUS PASTOR, 81 Monsignor James J. Bennett, 81, pastor of St. Stanislaus R. C. Church, Maspeth, who two years ago last December celebrated his golden jubilee as a priest, died yesterday in St.

Vincent's Hospital. Monsignor Bennett was a brother of the late Rev. Joseph Bennett, a former pastor of St. Stanislaus Church. He succeeded him at that post on Jan 1, 1926.

Last July 2, he was given the title of Monsignor. Since assuming pastorate of Maspeth church, he directed the building of a new parochial school and convent. Coming to the United States from Ireland as a boy, he settled Mrs. Edward W. Kennedy, Ex-Boro Resident, Teacher Word was received here yesterday of the death on Friday night of Mrs.

Marie Brown Kennedy, former Brooklyn resident, at West Hartford, where she and her husband, Edward W. Kennedy, resided for a number of years. Mrs. Kennedy, a retired Brooklyn teacher, formerly taught at Public School 163, Benson Ave. and Bay 14th St.

She was born in this borough, vived by a sister, Mary Bennett. Until Tuesday at 4 p.m. the body will repose at the rectory. It then will be removed to the church edifice. where the Office of the Dead will be chanted at 10 a.m.

D. McCurdy Services Tonight the daughter of William J. and Laura Brown, and was a graduate of Erasmus Hall. High School and the Maxwell Training School for Teachers. While at the Bensonhurst school, she served under the late Mary Lynch, long principal of the school.

She was married to Mr. Kennedy in 1930, at which time she gave up teaching and went to West Hartford to live. Besides her husband, who is in the insurance business, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles Whelen and Laura A. Brown, both of Brooklyn, and a brother, Dr.

Francis X. Brown, Brooklyn physician. The funeral will be tomorrow from Funeral Home, West Hartford." A solemn requiem mass will follow in her parish church. in Brooklyn, and studied at the old Manhattan College St. John's College, Brooklyn.

He received his theological training at St. Mary's Seminary, Baltimore, where he was ordained on Dec. 21, 1898. On Jan. 1899, he was assigned to SS.

Peter and Paul Church, Brooklyn. Subsequently he served in many parishes on June 1912, was appointed pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church, Rockaway Beach. Under his leadership the present church of St. Virgillius in Broad Channel was built.

Fourteen years later, he was named pastor of St. Stanislaus Church. In World War, Mr. McCurdy served overseas with the 105th Infantry and received the Purple Heart. Previously, as a member of the 71st Regiment, New York National Guard, served on the Mexican border. He was a member of the 71st Regiment Post, American Le- gion, and Chapter 28, Disabled American Veterans. For many years he had been prominently identified with numerous philanthropic activities.
