Oct. 5 Dr. Albert Warren Ferris of 111 N. Walnut an alienist for New York State during the trial of Harry K. Thaw for.

the murder of Stanford White, and president of the New York State Lunacy Commission under former Gov. Charles Evans Hughes, died at his home last night. Dr. Ferris, who had been ill for several years, was 80. Surviving are two brothers and a all brother.

Funeral service will be held here tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in Woorilawn Cemetery, New York City. Born in Brooklyn Dr. Ferns was born in Brooklyn on Dec. 3.

1856 He graduated from New York University in 1878 and from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1882. While president, of the State Lunacy Commission he attracted public notice by declaring In 1910 that one out of every 279 persons in the State was insane.
