In the course of an active life he had been an outstanding athlete and sportsman, a newspaperman and an operator of ferryboats on Long Island Sound. The ferry enterprise was conceived by Mr. Wenck two years after his marriage to Jessie Sheriff of Brooklyn. Between 1906 and 1932 he operated, at various periods, ferry runs between Glen Oove and Rye and between Bay-ville and New Rochelle Stamford, and Greenwich, Conn. Mr.
