The University of Nebraska staff member says fresh meat from the store should be kept loosely wrapped in the coldest part of the refrigerator to avoid spoilage. Wet or blood-stained wrappings should be removed from the meat as soon as it is brought home from the market. Before meat is rewrapped it should be wiped with a clean, damp cloth, but it should not be washed since droplets of water can provide a spot for spoilage agents to grow. The packaging materials around meats at self-service counters are designed for display and convenience, but may not be intended for long storage, the specialist explained. By BEULAH FRANCE, R.N. (Q.) Our 2-year-old daughter willingly takes her afternoon nap in her crib.

But for more than six months now she has howled, night every, She absolutely, she refuses to into go her to gets Men Now Getting Housemaid's Knee Now, husbands are getting housemaid's knee. Mrs. Madge Ferredy, who heads the consumer research division for a vacuum cleaner company, reports. that husbands are assuming more of the cleaning task. Mrs.

Ferredy says she receives aphomes proximately 200 letters a day, answers to a cleaning questionnaire which goes out with every new cleaner. "We're getting more and more letters from the men," she said. "Sometimes they ask our advice; sometimes they tell how they've simplified a cleanjob, or how they think we should make our next vacuum mother's bed. Leaving a light on in the nursery is useless. Oral or rectal sedatives prescribed by two baby doctors do no good.

Can you help us? Mr. Q. H. (A.) Why, oh why, do so parents make "Life with Baby" so difficult for themselves and their children? The situation you describe is being duplicated in hundreds, maybe thousands, of homes. But there's no excuse for it.

It never should happen anywhere. From the day of birth a baby deserves fair treatment at the hands of adults. The minute adult hands pick up a baby and carry him to an adult bed to sleep, they are being most unfair to the child. Your daughter is strong, healthy and, during daytime, happy. It's her birthright to be happy at night, too.

But you robbed her of that privilege the first time you put her in her mother's bed. Cute, cuddly infants are a adorable. It's fun to snuggle them close when it's bedtime. I know all about 14, for as al inexperienced mother I did likewise and loved it. Natural Reaction So did my daughter.

But when she reacted as your daughter is now reacting, I learned how right my physician had been when he SO sternly said: "Always let her sleep alone! Don't 'just once' take her to bed with you." To have to give your baby sedatives at night and to have to hear her "howl" because she thinks she is being rejected is part of your payment for an earlier error. You, your wife and your physician will have to work together now to correct a situation which might easily have been prevented. I do hope other readers will not repeat your mistake with their infants. Beulah France wants to help you with your child care problems. Write her, Brooklyn Eagle, Brooklyn 1, N.
