Heerz is the sectional leader in the high individual average department with 178 points; the holder of the season high game, with a 256 perform ance, and high average man with a 648 series. He added to his fine individual marks by rolling a COG series which in cluded 210, 205 and 191 games.

With the aid of his teammate John Larmann, his team took a five-point victory over Blessed Sacrament Greys and moved within five points of the league-leading Blessed Sacrament Green keglers. Larmann turned in the high individual game of the week, a 228. Heerz' 210 and 205 games were the only other 200 games bowled in the section. Feb. 2 (U.R) Thirty-six-year-old Reidar Andersen of Norway won two Xew York State champion' ships yesterday in ski jump ing and cross-country skiing in competition at Palisades In terstate Park. Andersen, vanguard of the Norwegian Snoballen Ski Club of Oslo which will make a good will tour of the East, had little trouble outdistancing 25 rivals in the 7Ji-mile cross-country during the morning, and then returned in the afternoon to win the jumping title although he failed to record the longest distances. The 170 -pound, lithe -limbed invader covered the cross-coun try course in 47 minutes, 10 seconds, three-and-a-half min utes ahead of second-place Bob Johanneson, former McGill Uni versity intercollegiate ace.

Jo hanneson was timed in 50 min-utes, 46 seconds. Andersen, who has been one of the world's foremost jumpers for the past lo years, took the jumping title with a total of 215.9 points, while second place went to Walter Brostek, young star from the Edelweiss Ski Club, Greenfield, with 212.9 points. Scored on Form Brostek registered the day's longest leaps with jumps of 141 feet and 158 feet, a total of 13 feet more than Andersen's two jumps of 138 feet and 148 feet. But Andersen scored the greater number of points because of his superior form and grace. Twenty -five -year -old Bern-hard Blikstad of Norway won the Class ski jumping championship with 204.1 points on jumps of 128 and 143 feet.

Runner-up was Karl Bohler of the Norway S. C. a member of the U. S. Army championship team in the European Theater two years ago, with 199 points.

Kyrre Tokle of Norway, 44-year-old brother of the late, famed Torger Tokle, tied with Ottar Satre of Salisbury, one time national combined champion, for the veterans' title, each with 195.4 points. Ed Lawler had one of his good nights on the lanes as he rapped out games of 208-211-215 for a G31 series a his team won two out of three from Shore View. S. Tops Jewish Center, 55-50 The Boro Park Y. M. H. A basketball team today was back in the running for the National Jewish Welfare Board Basketball League title following a highly successful weekend.

After vanquishing the Washington Heights Y. M. H. A. on Saturday night by 55 to 50, the Boro Park five returned to its home floor last night to upset aojthe league-leading I'nion Tern-32 'pie combine.

Little Flower Grey is the league leader in the National Division of the Yanderveer Section of the league. Little Flower Grey has amassed 55 points and holds a five-point edge over the Silver keglers of their parish.

Little Flower Green is in third place with 44 tallies. Dooley stole the individual honors, rolling the high individual game, 225. and turning in the high individual series, 557. Little Flower Grey bowled the high game of the week, 844. St.

Vincent Blue holds a six-point edge on Little Flower Black in the American Division with 51 points. Little Flower Red is in third place with 42. Derby Bid Miami, Feb. 2 (U.R) Ever since the gelding Proctor Knott was upset by Spokane in the Kentucky Derby of 1889, the winner of the Belmont Futurity has been under a jinx as far as the Derby is concerned. Proctor Knott, who was named after a Senator from Kentucky, won the first Futur ity in 1888, and when Derby time came 'round the next year he was an odds-on favorite at 1 to 2. But the inhabitants of the State of Kentucky went broke when the Montana-owned Spokane beat him by a neck.

Since Proctor Knott, only nine other winners of the Futurity, which is supposed to determine the two-year-old champion, have gotten to the post in the Derby and all of them lost.
