p. p. Briman 5 0 10'Laplne I.KU.tt MITIlK PROPOSALS I rilOPUSL! i 1 Park yesterday. Five members 2 3: of the Reeo Park team and fi vp BOAST TWINS Fifteen of the 21 members of the Xavier High School baseball nine are from Brooklyn and Long Island. Heading the Brooklyn contingent are the Murphy twins of football fame Tom and Bill pitcher and centerfielder, respectively.

The other borough lads on the squad comprise Mike Buono, leftfielder, and Bill Kennedy, second baseman. The 11 Long Islanders on Coach Anthony B. Karpowich's aggregation number Bob Battipaglia, Astoria, second baseman; Ronald Cobert, shortstop; Ken Dinnhaupt, Richmond Hill; Jack Fitzgerald, Manhasset, and Jack Murphy, Flushing, outfielders; Jim Gallagher, Elmhurst, and Ed Keane, Far Rockaway, pitchers; Pete Hollenbeck, Manhasset, catcher; Ted Panebianco, Queens Village, first base; Frank Ruddy, Jackson Heights, shortstop, and Joe Simone, Glen-dale, third base. PROMISING FLY HAWKS Coach Lou Greene of the Westinghouse baseball nine, has four outfielders who shape Up as potential stars. They are Joe Whittle, a holdover from 1952; Lou Trani and Sal Angelotti, who were reserve gardners, and newcomers Vinny Padavano and Dick Norseman, sixth termers, and Joe Boone, a fourth tenner.

GETS RAVE NOTICES Word has gone the rounds that one of the best looking pitchers in the high school ranks of the East is Bob Eicher, a 17-year-old right hander of this borough, who mixes his stuff up for Salesian High of New Rochelle. The team is under the direction of Gordy MacDonald for the first this season. Eicher, who is 6-1 in height and weighs 180 pounds, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Eicher of 3G6 74th Bay Ridge.

Bob was awarded the most valuable player trophy as a member of Our Lady of Angels nine in the Catholic Youth Organization baseball tourney last season. The team also plays in the Bay Ridge League. Eicher hung up an enviable record on the mound with the aggregation. The youngster has had major league scouts look him over but they have to employ a hands-off policy until graduates. They have been attracted by his poise, control, izzling fast ball, sharp breaking curves and tantalizing change of pace.

Vinny Bira, former stellar tackle of the Brooklyn Tech and Lafayette College football teams, who was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals but never played because of going into the Army, has been named Athletic Director in one sector of Japan. Vinny also played baseball at Lafayette and in the Army. LADIES ARE INVITED It is not generally known, but the ladies are cordially invited to attend the Welcome Home dinner to the Brooklyn club, defending champion of the National League, by the Dodger Knot-Hole Club at the Hotel St George, Monday evening, April 13 at 6:30 o'clock. Tickets are priced at six dollars. All the money derived from the affair goes to the Knot-Hole Club and enables thousands of youngsters to see the Dodgers play absolutely free of charge throughout the Summer.

Combines of SS. Peter and Paul and SS. Cyril and Methodius will officially close their baseball seasons with a benefit game and dance for St. Rose's Cancer Hospital at McCaddin Hall, S. 3d and Berry next Saturday night The rival clubs will operate under the direction of Hugh McCabe and the Rev.
