Jacob Heller, 77, of 201 Eastern Parkway, retired obstetrician, died yesterday in Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan. Funeral services were today in The Riverside, 1 Ocean Parkway. Dr. Heller was born in Minsk, Russia, and came to this country in 1892. He was given his M.

D. by Cornell University in 1899, and served as chief of obstetrics at the Brooklyn Women's Hospital from 1915 to and medical director of the Bedford Maternity Hospital from 1918 to 1936. He retired in 1942. In addition to his wife, Ray, he is survived by two daughters. Elka and Ruth, and a son, Robert.

Jas. S. Stanton, 84, Roofing Executive James S. Stanton, 84, owner of the J. S.

Stanton Roofing Company, a Greenpoint firm founded by his father in 1868, died Sunday at St. Catherine's Hospital. He lived at 82-45 Penelope Forest Hills. Mr. Stanton was born in Manhattan and resided in Brooklyn many years before moving to Forest Hills.

His wife, Mrs. Matilda Stanton, died in 1922. He is survived by one son, Edwin S. Stanton, an executive in the roofing business: one grandson, Edwin, also in the business; one ter, Mrs. Patricia S.

Clark, and two, grandchildren, tomorrow from the Hildebrand Chapel, 63-17 Woodhaven Boulevard, Forest Hills. A solemn requiem mass will be offered at 10 a.m. in the Resurrection-Ascension R. C. Church, Forest Hills.

Eva G. Austin Case, Borough Attorney's Widow Old Greenwich, Feb. 17 Mrs. Eva G. Austin widow of George Carman Case, Brooklyn lawyer, died here Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church at 11 a.m. tomorrow and burial will be in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Mrs. Case was born in Brooklyn. She and Mr.

Since his retirement in 1946, after 60 years as a newspaperman, he had been living in New Fane, Vt. Mr. Fairbanks was born in Nattituck, and immediately after his graduation from Tufts College began his newspaper career on the Springfield Republican. He was employed by the Philadelphia Record and the Philadelphia Press before coming to New York in 1898 to join the staff of New York Herald. He left the Herald for the the Times in 1912 and was made telegraph editor in 1921.
