J. W. Thome, Isabella Fred H. Dalzell, rhairman of the board of the Dalzell Towing Company, of 21 State Manhattan, died yesterday at his home in Quogue at the age of 07. He was the son of the late -Commodore Frederick B.

Dalzell, founder of the com pany which operates a large tllKS 'NeW 01 Har bor and is one of the world's largest towing companies. Mr. Dalzell, who formerly lived for many years in Carroll Brooklyn, had been treasurer of the Maritime Association of New York and had been president of the International Lifeboat Racing Association. The laiter organization of which he was a founder, sponsored lifeboat races in the Narrows every Labor Day for 13 (designed to promote at! sea and amity between nations, crews of merchant ships of all nations, competed. Burial was in Mount Ararat Cemetery, Fariningdulo. Mr. Bartclstone, who was 50, died Monday in his home, (53-50 Wetherole Rcgo Park. He was a graduate of Cooper Union and City College. A civil engineer, Mr.

Bartclstone was with the Pennsylvania Railroad for 20 years. When he left the railroad in 1927 he was a division engineer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sara D. Bartelstone; a son, Robert; two sisters, Mrs.

Rites Conducted ForW. H. Banks, 77, And His Wife, 73 Funeral rites for William II. Banks, 77, and his wife, Mary, 73, of 4 1-37 Westmoreland Little Neck, were held today. A solemn mass of requiem was offered at 0:30 a.m.

in St. Anas-tasia's K. C. Church for Mrs. Banks, and services were conducted at the residence at 11 a.m.

for Mr. Banks. Mrs. Banks died suddenly Sunday night at her home, and Mr. Banks, a retired salesman for the Fulton Fish Market, Manhattan, died Monday night of a heart ailment as he was preparing to retire for the night.

Mr. and Mi's. Banks were born In Manhattan, and before moving to Little Neck 21 years ago lived in inooKiyn. Mr. Banks retired many years ago.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ann E. Brearley. Charles Wardwell, Ex-Eagle Employe Charles Wardwell, veteran newspaperman. formerly a member of the editorial staff of the Brooklyn Kagle, died lo-da in Cumbei'land Mr.

Wardwell. who licd at the Hotel St. Ceorgo. suffered taken to the hoNpital. where he bad been a patient He was a native of xermunt and began his career at an early age.

For a number of years before coming to Brooklyn he was as sociated with the Gannett chain of newspapers in New York and New England and had served in executive posts. At one time lie was managing editor of one of the Gannett papers, lie also had been associated with sev eral Manhattan newspapers. Mr. Wardwell was married a number of years ago to Mary Spargo, now a columnist for a Washington newspaper. The marriage was dissolved hy divorce.

Mr. Cave, who lived at .115 died Sunday, lie wai born of Knglish parents at Antwerp, Belgium, and a year later was taken to England, where he spent his boyhood days. Dr. Gillespy, a native of Birmingham, was graduated from the University of Ala bama, and In received his medical degree from Tulane University. He practiced his profession in Birmingham for a while and in 1927 became a medical examiner at the home office of the New York Life, In World War 1 he served with the Navy Medical Corps, and in the recent war he was a major in the Army Medical Department in India.

Surviving are hi widow, Mrs. Bell Seawell Gillespy; a son, Dr. Robert R. Gillespy a daughter, Barbara Bell Gil- lespv; two brothers, Dr. John Sharp Gillespy, and two sisters, Mrs.
