Churchill Hall is the largest hotel In Stamford, with the most central and convenient location, and is open each year from May to October, with an accommodation lor 300 guesU. Adjoining It, and connected by covered passageway, is the Hotel Hamilton, which will be open throughout the entire year, under the management of F. E. Basley, who is the lessee of the property. In Churcn-i ill Fark is also the Rexmero, which will open June 21, with forty bathroom suites, cuisine and service of the highest order.

The drinking water is supplied from excellent springs on the grounds. Summer camps in the woods are a novel feature, and the first elasa or- which has been engaged for the sea son will give concerts daily. The Uexmere golf course of nine holes offers guests of Churchill Hall and the Rexmere facilities fo golf rarely found at resort hotels. Kor location, scenery, natural hazards and fine turf tbeee links are unsurpassed. A fine pro-gramme of sport, with frequent tournaments, under the direction of the Ut3ayantha Golf Club, is arranged for the season.

Beside this in the way of amusements are bowling alleys, tennis courts, billiards, ping pong tables, dancing, and a number of sklfie are provided on the lakes in Churchill Park. The drinking water is all filtered and the excellent sewerage Bystem is a guarantee of the best sanitary conditions. The drives in Stamford and vicinlly are of great variety and over good roads, and a livery connected with the houses, with careful and experienced drivers, is always at the disposal of guests. S. E.

Churchill, M. will continue hiB service as resident physician to guests of Churchill Hall, the Rexmere and Hotel Hamilton. To the guests of the Hotel Hamilton all the privileges of the larger hotels under the same management are free. This house Is equipped with electric lights, steam heat and extensive piazzas. Centrally located as to railroad station, post office and churches, it makes an Ideal home for summer and wintor tourists.

It would be hard to pick out a more delightful spot in which to spend the summer than the homelike Cornish House at Pine Hill, of which J. C. Cornish Is the able manager. Every appointment is modern and designed to produce tho greatost comfort possible for the guest. The house Is entirely new, and everything, is fresh and Inviting, with a cuisine which is dellciously tempting nd daintily served.

Each department is under tho management of a competent head and Is well cared for, and Iho guests' every comfort is the first consideration. A broad piazza extends across the front of the house and is well supplied with comfortable rockers and lounging chairs of all descriptions. The lawns are largo and shady, with many a nook where a hammock may be hung and-the latest novel enjoyed. There is a good livery near at hand, where conveyances of ull kinds may be bad, and those wishing to bring their own horses will find ample accommodations. Nestling among the mountains of the Catskill stands tho Rip Van Wlnklo House, at Pine Hill, whose very name brlag3 pleasant memories before us, and It we have been a guest within Its hospitable walls we wish to return sgaln, while if we have never been entortalned there we know we should like to be, for the name suggests an Ideal pot for a summer outing.

During the past season the house has been redecorated, thoroughly renovated and partially refurnished, and Is now ready for the Influx of guests. The table is well and abundantly applied from the nearby farms, and the best of dairy products aro always available. The rooms are all large, light nnd airy and furnished with a view to cleanliness and comfort. Pure water is supplied from a nearby mountain whose source Is high above contamination. Seventeen hundred feet above the Hudson River and four hours' rido from New York Is tho Birch Creek House at l'lne Hill, which will be run again this season under the capable management of L.

C. Kaynolds. The grounds are large and well shaded with fine lawn and croquet grounds. The house baa over 200 feet of veranda and Is supplied with pure, cool, running spring water. Tho rooms aro comfortable with good furniture and plenty of air.

The table Is under now management this year and the results are excellent. KAATEItSKILL'S PANORAMA. At an elevation of 3.000 feet In theCats-kill Mountains, whose nativo grandeur, picturesque and diversified landscape Is not urpasesd by any mountain region on the globe, Is the Hotel Knntersklll, under the able management of John Ritchie of the Hotel Savoy, New York. This hotel claims to be the largest mountain hotel In the world and from Iti plazzns tho visitor has an unobstructed pnnorama, stretching across the Hudson Valley and over the hills of New England, covering an area of ovrr ninety miles. The capacity of this great botel Is 1.200 guests, with "00 rooms In the hotel and annex, 100 of which have separate bathrooms.

In which the plumbing Is thoroughly sanitary and modern. The dining room, which Is accessible from the great rotunda, has a seating capacity of 1,200. The cuisine Is conceded to be of the highest standard of excellence. On the north slope of Round Top Mountain, at the head of the famous Kaatersklll Clove, overlooking Sunset and two adjoining parks of one hundred cottages and two churches, Is the Sunset Park Inn. It Is the largest, handsomest and most modern hotel in any of the Catskill Mountain parks and has unsurpassed views of mountains, sunsets, Kaatersklll Falls, Hudson River and Berkshire Hills. The walks and drives, amid finest scenery, are numerous, and an up-to-date livery Is In connection with the nark. This nark has an abundant supply of pure, soft spring water ana perfect sewerage, with grandest views In America. There are no mosquitoes or ma-laria.

It comprises seven ledges of rocks, all facing the north and about 400 feet anart. giving every cottage an unobstructed view and making It the most wonderful natural mountain park In tho country. Tbe Inn has a handsome music room, where an orchestra of the flncBt musicians give dally concerts. The bouse has a steam-heating plant, eleva tor, gas, electric bells, sanitary plumbing, rooms en suite, with private baths, beside local and long distance telephones. It has accommodations for two hundred guests and will be run under the management of Charles E.

Lelantl of the family eo well known In connection with hotel lifo in Now Yerk City. Every room has fire-escapes, the samo as are used in the largest hotels throughout tne country. The rooms are all large, ltght and airy, most of them having two and three windows and all furnished with brass or enamel bedsteads, fine springs and hair mat-tressos. The popularity of the Inn is vouched for by tho numerous guests who return sea-sqn after season to gain health and strength within Its bospltnble walls. One of tho oldest established summer hotels In tho CatBkills Is the Prospect Park Hotel, which opens this year under entirely new management.

The main building Is 250 feet front, with a wing 150x40 feet. It Is In a large and beautiful park of cedars, 400 foet above and overlooking the Hudson River and Catskill Creek. There Is positively no malaria, hay fever or mosquitoes, as thousands who have enjoyed the pure mountain air will testify. The dining room, simply and tastefully decorated, is a model of neatness, capable of seatlnar all riteats nr one sitting. There are aboufTJoO bedrooms, single or In suite, furnished with comforts-bio beds and thoroughly ventilated.

All halls are connected with main office by telephone and all rooms by complete bell system, thus Insuring the best possible service to guests. Throughout the building special precautions have been taken against Bre, and watchmen aro on duty all night. A new feature oi tne notei win be a rathskeller, which has been fitted up In the most complete manner, and Is Intended exclusively for the guests of the house. The bowling alleys a few steps away from the hotel proper sre so located as to cause no In- convenience to light sleepers. A first-class livery is connected with the hotel, having excellent saddle horses, carriages, comfort- anie surreys ana traps or all kinds, while there Is good accommodation for private teams.

THE BIO INDIAN VAILET. Nearly two thousand feet high la biintl. fully located In the most attractive and healthful part of the Catskill Mountains, the mountain inn. its broad verandas command an excellent view of the Dig Indian Valley, and many of the best noted peaks In tbe mountains. Several thousand dollars have been expended upon Improvements for the Inn, and electric lights are now to be had throughout tho entire bouse.

Thomas Moore will be the proprietor for the ninth season and will endeavor to merit the con tinued ravor or his patrons snd friends. High above the sea level, In one of the most romantic parts of the Catskill Mountains, stands the Mountain View House at stanuora. Tne elevation here Is 2,200 feet and malaria and mosquitoes are unknown. The views from tbe broad piazzas are (rand and cover a large range of country. The rooms in the hotel are large and airy and all ngntea by electricity.

The table Is supplied with fresh milk, butter, eggs, poultry and vegetables from the farms In the section. This house haa accommodations for one hundred guests. IN CATSKILL VILLAGE. Five hundred feet above tidewater and one mile north from the vlllngo of Catskill stands the summit Hill House, In a region which abounds In picturesque scenery, lakes, largo and small streams of running water and all the beauties of forest, cave and The sanitary conditions of the house are the best. Its location on high ground rendering It easy to make Its drainage system perfect.

The grounds of the nolo! embrace 73 acres, of which a great part Is Improved for tha pleasure ot the guests, pretty summer houses and numerous rustle seats belns; round In each shady nook. A veranda 15 feet wide nearly encircles the hotel, from which, beside a magnificent panoramic view of the Catskill range, can be seen the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts, tns nreen Mountains of Vermont, tbe New Hampshire Mountains snd the valley of the Catskill Creek. There Is music morning and afternoon, with dancing each evening, certain hours being set aside for children snd others for sdults. Tennis, base ball, croquet, pool and billiards sre some of the sports which may be en-loved, while horseback riding, fishing, boat ing and sailing appeal to many. Is ever ready to ester to the comfort of guests snd feels that his house Is better adapted this year serious and the gay. The golf links, without which in these days no resort is complete, have been put In excellent condition and are In charge of a competent attendant. The rotunda, with large open fireplace for wood, is devoted to the use of the public. Musio, which is always a source of unbounded pleasure to all lovers of this divine art, Is furnished by a large orchestra, which in point of efficiency and equipment Is seldom excelled at any summer resort. There is a resident physician, who is a of high standing in his profession.

A competent watchman is stationed on each floor throughout tho night. Among all the grand scenic beauties of the CatBkills none are more highly favored than the Kaatersklll Falls region and here is located The Laurel House, with an altitude of 2,500 feet above sea level; pure air and water, beautiful walks and drives, all combine to give it widespread and increasing popularity. It is a fine, commodious hotel, with all modern improvements, and the ap pointments are all that could be desired, offering the comforts of a home with all the accommodations, elegance and ease of modern hotel life superadded. The rooms are light, airy and cheerful, and are arranged singly or en suite, as desired. The house is in a thoroughly sanitary condition, lighted throughout with gas, and supplied with electric bellH, baths, etc.

Wide verandas extend along each side of the building while the fine large parlors and assembly rooms will accommodate three hundred guests. Five thousand dollars has been expended this year in improvements which are bound to give added comforts to the patrons of this season. Herbert L. Legg, the proprietor, during the present tourist season will leave nothing undone that might contribute to the comfort and enjoyment of his guests. His ability to supply the table in a satisfactory manner is well attested by his former patrons, both North and South.

The hotel has a direct telegraph wire to New York with connections in all directions. Within a radius of two miles are halt a dozen fine trout streams, well stocked with brook trout and there are no restrictions on fishing during the open Beason from May 1 to the middle ot September. THE KAATEKSKILL CLOVE. "sunset Park Inn Is located on the north slope of Round Top Mountain, at the head ot the famous Kaatersklll Clove, overlooking Sunset and two adjoining parks of one hundred cottages, and two churches, one- half mile from station or post office, and near the beautiful and picturesque HalneB Falls. It Is one of the largest, bandsomset and most modern hotels In the section and has unsurpassed views of mountains, sunsets, Hudson Valley and Berkshire Hills.

Eighty-five guests can be comfortably accommodated at the Pine Orove House In Pa-lenvllle. The house Is delightfully located In a park of beautiful pines on a high elevation, overlooking Kaatersklll creek; and within a short distance of numerous waterfalls and varied scenery. The water Is supplied from a pure mountain spring and all sanitary arrangements are of the most modern type. There Is a livery connected with the house and accommodations for guests desiring to bring horses and carriages. The house Is four stories high and has a wide veranda extending around three sides which affords a fine promenade on a damp or stormy day, whilo Its many shady nooks afford spots where the book lover can while away a summer day.
