Crippled Wasp 'Limps Into Port Continued from Page 1 W. 16th had a semi -official welcoming party in the harbor.

His prospective father-in-law, Tony Esposito, 44, of 2838 W.ly 24th hired a rowboat with outboard motor and chugged out to the giant carrier to wave to John. Aboard ship, John's father, Vincent, a Brooklyn Navy Yard worker, managed to get permis-200 sion to see his son on deck. The elder Taylor trembled as his son recounted his experi- ence. "I was asleep," Taylor said, "when suddenly I felt water all around me. The next thing I knew I was swimming." Has a Black Eye Taylor, who had a black eye as a souvenir of the crash, said he was forced out of his compartment by the pressure of the water.

"I was kneeling on deck. It was level with the water already. Someone threw a life jacket to me and I put it on. Then a huge wave knocked me over and I remember grabbing line from the Wasp." "I grabbed the line and climbed," he continued. "All around me I could hear the terrible screaming of men going under.

'Throw life they screamed, 'we're members of the Hobson crew were asleep when the Wasp crushed the smaller ship. Swept Mile Away An amazing rescue involved Arthur H. Schmidt, 23, of 89-12 Northern Boulevard, Heights. Schmidt was swept 4 mile away from the Wasp by the heavy sea before he was picked whaleboat. up I by had the oil carrier's me," he said, "even in mouth.

It didn't taste too good." Bistany Linked To Gun Fence Continued from Page Maxine Taylor, seized in a companion raid on a Taunton, hotel. She had two guns in her luggage. Maxine pleaded guilty this morning to a morals charge in Taunton District Court and was ordered jailed in New Bedford in lieu of $5,500 bail, pending sentence. She had been living with Bistany at a Taunton hotel. Whether Andreozzi learned of the tie between Bistany and Mazziotta from Bistany, his girl friend or the other two men held in Providence could not be learned immediately.

Mazziotta, the bookie and gun fence known to have received the Schuster murder gun after it was stolen from a Brooklyn pier a month before Schuster's murder, is still being hunted throughout the country. From the notes Bistany kept lit was learned also that the oneeyed, long-time burglar and pal of Sutton had another meeting in Brooklyn. This was after the arrest of Sutton. Maxine and an unidentified couple made up the group. At this session Bistany told Maxine to "keep under cover for a few days and I'll let vou know how things turn out." Bistany is wanted in Brooklyn not only as a "prime sus.

pect" in the Schuster slaying but also as a member of a gang which robbed the Brevoort post office branch of $29,000 on April 29, 1951. Federal authorities want him on this charge With a police record dating back to 1920. Bistany's aliases, include Koury, Kirdahy and Ameen. He is known also as the Syrian Flash. He won the title Butcher because he at one time worked as a butcher.

Bistany, according to Andreozzi, is on lifetime parole in connection with a 1936 burglary and the parole could be revoked because he was carrying weapons when arrested. He was quoted as telling police after his arrest in Providence that "1 won't talk except in Brooklyn -take me there and I'll talk." GEORGE T. McHUGH NEAL V.
