Virginia Campbell Honored at Party Mrs. Harvey D. Matthews Jr. of 42 Willow St. entertained at a luncheon today In honor of Miss Virginia Campbell, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. James Dyke Campbell of 145 Mldwood St. Miss Campbell is to be married to Ensign John Robert Dinsmore, U. S. Navy, next month.

Among those present were the Misses Mabel Campbell, Marion Thomas, Evelyn Onken, Miriam Herr, Jennie Lee Holllngs, Estelle Velsor, Elizabeth Phraner, Hope Hall, Deynard Collins, Virginia Peake and Barbara Rowe, Mrs. Spencer Sites and Mrs. Lewis Beser. si "5 -tor i fill J1- Clinton Ave. and the late Dr.

Meagher, was married today at 12:30 o'clock to Dr. Fraacis Edmund Donoghue, son of Mrs. Mae A. Donoghue of Miami, Fla. The wedding took place in the Queen of All Saints Church, with the Rev.

Charles A. Boyd officiating. Mons. Bracken's Choir Boys sang the nuptial mass. The church was beautifully decorated with lilies and cybotlum ferns.

A breakfast at Sherry's, Manhattan, for the relatives and Intimate friends followed the wedding ceremony. The bride was escorted by her brother, John Wallace Meagher, and wore a bridal gown of old Ivory satin with a sweetheart neckline, long-sleeved and her veil of tulle and gown were trimmed with family rose-point lace, She carried a bouquet of orchids and valley lilies. Mrs. Leo Donovan of Bethesda, was matron of honor. Gowned in lilac chiffon sh wore a leghorn hat with matching lilacs.

Bridal attendants were the Misses Vlctorine Foster, a cousin of the bride; Ruth Noaks and Virginia Snyder of Brooklyn, Mary Connolly of Chicago, Faj McKeever of Wayne, and Evelyn Hagmoe of Seattle, Wash. They wore gowns of pale blue chiffon, matching leghorn hats and they carried bouquets of lilacs, A brother of the bridegroom, Leonard Anson Doaoghue of Oxford, Ohio, acted as best man and ushers were Dr. C. Gordon Zubrod and Dr. Kenneth Donaldson of Manhattan, Dr.

Francis H. O'Brien, Greenwich, Dr. Louis R. Murphy, Scranton Dr. Frank Hardart, Forest Hills, Dr.

Robert Gehres, Sacramento, and Dr. James Missett of Springfield, Mass. The bride was graduated from Adelphl Academy, Packer Collegiate Institute, and she is graduating from Barnard College this week. She Is a member of the Colony House, Junior Guild. The bridegroom was graduated from Notre Dame University, class of 1936, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, New York, in 1940.

At present he Is on the house staff of the Milwaukee County General Hospital. Following the wedding trip Dr. Donoghue and his bride will make their home In Milwaukee. Third Son Born Mr. and Mrs.

Frederick E. Rieger of Englewood, N. formerly of Brooklyn, announce the birth of their third son, Donald Christian Rieger, on Tuesday at the Lying-in Hospital, Manhattan. Mrs. Rieger is the former Miss Hilda Muller, daughter of Mrs.

Thomas O. Muller of Brooklyn. The Riegers' other children are Frederick E. Rieger Jr. and Thomas Muller Rieger.

Menu Cranberry Juice Cocktail Grilled Cubed Steak Au Gratin Potatoei Buttered Green Beam Grapefruit Salad Whole Wheat Muffint Butterscotch Marshmallou) Cake Cofee Tea Milk BUTTERSCOTCH MARSHMAL- LOW CAKE 1 cups sifted flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt cup shortening l'i cups brown sugar cup water 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs cup milk 12 marshmallows Measure the sifted flour and sift again with the baking powder and salt. Mix the shortening, sugar and water and cook over low heat until the sugar ii dissolved.

Cool and add the vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternately add sifted dry ingredients with the milk. Beat until smooth. Pour into a prepared deep 9-inch cake pan.

Saviour's The wedding of Miss Ave Maria Burns, daughter of Mrs. Francis James Burns of 495 8th Ave. and the lata Mr. Burns, to Thomas Joseph Dobbins son of T. J.

Dobbins and the late Mrs. Dobbins, took place this morning at a nuptial mass in St. Saviour's Church. The Rev. Charles E.

Bermingham, diocesan director of the Catholic Youth Organization, performed the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Ward Burns, and had her sister, Mrs. Vincent M. Keber, as matron of honor and Miss Lillian OTourke of Mt. Vernon and Mrs.

Ward R. Burns of Douglaston as bridesmaids. Miss Burns wore a gown of duch ess satin made with a square neck line trimmed with duchess lace. Her point de Venlse veil was held by lilies of the valley and she carried a pearl prayer book with streamers. The attendants all wore white lace marquisette and had leghorn hats, two trimmed with blue velvet ribbon and two with pink velvet.

They carried old-fashioned bouquets. White peonies decorated the altar. James Dobbins was best man and the ushers included William Dobbins, John Vincent Summers, James T. Brady Adrian Norbert Renz and Dr. Vincent M.

Keber. The bride attended St. Saviour's High School and was graduated from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1938. She Is a member of National Catholic Honor sorority, Kappa Gamma PI. Mr.

Dobbins was graduatd from Brooklyn Preparatory School and Holy Cross College, class of 1936. He Is a member of the Metropolitan Club of Holy Cross. The eouple will go to Skytop, in the Poconos, on their wedding trip and will reside at 10 Montgomery Place. Miss Marilyn Barnes Graef has returned home from Trinity College, Washington, D. where as one of the selected sophomore class members she assisted in carrying the daisy chain at the graduation exercises of the class of 1941.

Miss Graef is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Randall Graef of 1150 Ocean Ave. Mr, and Mrs. Frank J.

Gllbride of Huntington entertained at the Huntington Crescent Club Wednesday in honor of Mr. and Mrs. J. Herbert Todd of Brooklyn to celebrate the launching of the Todd Corporation boat Todd-Shlp at the Jacogsen Shipyard at Oyster Bay. The Todd-Shlp took to the water at noon, christened by the Gllbrldes' daughter, Maureen, aged 3.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Joseph Graham. A luncheon reception fol lowed in the Salon Madrid of the Fifth Avenue Hotel, Manhattan. The bride wore a white marquisette gown with tuck and peplum, and Juliet cap trimmed with seed pearls beneath a flowing fingertip veil, and carried a prayer book and ribbon streamers, with lilies of the valley bouquet. Her maid of honor and only attendant.

Miss Catherine O'Hara of Brooklyn, was attired in a pale pink ruffled gown of organza and wore a leghorn picture hat trimmed with lavender velvet ribbons. She carried an old-fashioned bouquet of mixed flowers. The bridegroom had Thomas O'Brien of Jackson Heights as best man. The ushers were Perry B. Rice a brother of the bride, and Leslie Schroeder of Jersey City, N.

J. Following a wedding trip to Vir ginia Beach, the couple will reside in Brooklyn. Garden Party Arranged By Waterloo Chapter The monthly meeting of Water loo Chapter, Daughters of the British Empire, was held at the home of Mrs. William Johnston, Richmond Hill, this week. Refreshments were served, with Mrs.

William Johnston and Mrs. Rennie as hostesses. Final arrangements were made for the garden party to be held at the home of Mrs. Samuel Jackson, regent, 450 E. 22d Wednesday.

The proceeds will be donated to the British War Relief in New York. The musical program will include songs by Elliot R. Pflomm, accompanied by Mrs. Pflomm. Mrs.

W. Ewlng will sing several British and American selections. Miss Murphy Guest Miss Eileen Murphy of 401 8th Ave. entertained this week at her home at a luncheon and shower in honor of Miss Oeraldlne Donovan, who is the fiancee of Thomas Hines. The couple will be married this month.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and had Miss Ann Stevens Waters of Brooklyn as maid of honor and Miss ltatalle Smith, also of Brooklyn, as bridesmaid. The bride's gown was of mull, with an embroidered bodice. She wore an illusion veil caught with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white orchids with lily of the valley ribbons. Miss Waters wore a powder blue chiffon gown and carried an old-fashioned bouquet. The bridsmaid wore yellow chiffon and carried an old-fashioned bouquet.

Herbert Lord was best man for his brother and the ushers were Lt. Peter Denisevlch, Lt. Constant A. Trioiano, Lt. Carl W.

Plitt and Lt. Bryce F. Denno. There was a reception for the families and the bridal party at the Raymond Hotel, Fitchburg, after which Lieutenant and Mrs. Lord left for a wedding trip to Specter Lake, Mass.

The wedding was not Intended to take place until later in the year, but as Lieutenant Lord is on active duty with the 16th Infantry, 1st Division, and will be transferred to Puerto Rlto, the wedding was advanced. The bride will be graduated from Packer Collegiate Institute next Monday night. She has been president of the Packer Junior Guild, a member of Omega Iota and is on the board of the Junior Auxiliary of Faith Home for Incurables. Lieutenant Lord is a grandson of the late Gen. Herbert M.

Lord, a former director of the Bureau of the Budget, and Mrs. Lord, and is a graduate of the University of Vermont, class of 1937. He is a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.
