Powell United Last Night Southern Physician Marries Daughter Of David Leslie Hodgenses in Church Miss Margaret Hodgens, Leslie Hodgens of 905 E. Thurston Gates Powell, son mington, N. and the late formed last night in the hattan. The Rev. Dr.

and Mrs. J. Frederick Taylor Manhattan as bridesmaids. Miss Hodgens wore a portrait gown candlelight satin, basque bodice, long fitted sleeves and a voluminous skirt forming a full fan train. The high round neckline was appliqued at the collar with heirloom duchess lace and she wore a veil illusion caught to her hair with orange blossoms which had been worn by her mother at her wedding.

White orchids and stephanotis formed the bridal bouquet. Miss Duncan wore a bouffant gown soft coral net over faille. She wore a Ay -away veil of matching tulle and carried a cascade picardy gladioli and delphinium. The bridesmaids' gowns were similar to Miss Duncan's but were turquoise net over faille. They carried cascades of deep picardy gladioli.

Dr. Furman Payne Covington Thomasville, N. was best man and the ushers included Roy C. Hopgood Jr. of Glen Ridge; Allen G.

Hogarty of Westernport, cousin of the bride; Dr. Hamilton M. McCroskery of East Orange and Dr. Dan Mastin Crozier of Athens, W. Va.

The bride received her education at Packer Collegiate Institute and Wells College, 1938. Dr. Powell was educated at Wake Forest College and Jefferson Medical College and is a member of Theta Kappa Nu and Phi Chi fraternities. Dr. and Mrs.

Powell have gone to Skytop, on their wedding trip. Fenton -Potter Mr. and Mrs. John V. Fenton of Morris Rockville Centre, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Jean Mitchell Fenton, to Frederick Arthur Potter son of Mrs.

Irene Potter of Saranac Lake, N. Y. Miss Fenton was graduated from South Side High School, Rockville Centre. She is a member of Alpha Xi sorority. Mr.

Dog Show Will Feature East Hampton Weekend Special to the Brooklyn Eagle: East Hampton, June 28-The first Dog Show of the newly organized club of which Philip Hays Dater is the president, will be held on July 6 on the grounds of the East Hampton Riding Club. Silver trophies will be given for best in show and best of breed; about five hundred entries are expected. Mrs. William Lafayette Burton 2d has offered a defense bond AS prize to the handler handling the most dogs. Judges will be John G.

Andrew Jackson Smith and their son, George Smith, left on Tuesday for a vacation at Burlington, Vt. John Oldrin are here fishing from their Salt. Howard Gould is still here on the Niagara. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Darby have returned for a weekend at the yacht club.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sarazen and Mr. and Mrs. Elbridge Rathborn of Springfield, are others staying at the club and fishing off the Point today.

Wesley Day, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride was graduated from Lawrence High School. Mr. Day also was graduated from Lawrence High School and Western Maryland College and Teachers College, Columbia University. He is a member of the faculty of the Oceanside public schools as band director.
