is BROOkLYN EAGLE, SUNDAY, JUNE 13, 1943 Boden, Mr. Menes Are United The wedding of Miss Charlotte Marion Boden, daughter of Mrs. Frank Edward Boden of Richmond Hill, and Frederick August Menes son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A.

Menes, also of Richmond Hill, took place last evening in the Union Congregational Church, Richmond Hill. The Rev. Dr. A. J.

MacKenzie officiated at the ceremony which was followed by a reception at the home of the bride's mother. The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, wore a gown of white satin made on princess lines with a transparent off the shoulder yoke of white net outlined with a double ruff imported Chantilly lace, a ruff of the same lace on sleeves. Her full length white tulle veil of imported pure silk bridal illusion was held in place by a double ruching of imported Chantilly lace. She wore a shower bouquet of gardenias and stephanotis. The matron of honor, Mrs.

Peter Kihss Jr. of Jamaica Estates, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a white silk jersey bodice with a marquisette skirt with pansies appliqued in spray from the shoulder to the hem of the skirt. Pansy colored grosgrain ribbon streamers were tied in a bow at the back of the head. The bouquet was of matching flowers.

The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Evelyn Henry of Forest Hills, Mrs. Everett T. Orr of Sunnyside, Mrs. Robert M. Klein of Richmond Hill and Mrs.

Yens F. Larsen of Jersey City. They wore gowns similar to the matron of honor's. Charles Ehlermann Jr. of St.

Albans was best man and the ushers included Charles W. Ritter of Freeport, Robert M. Klein of Richmond Hill, Everett T. Orr of Sunnyside, Kenneth B. Mesler of Kew Gardens and Raymond L.

Fischer of Richmond Hill. The couple will go to Sky Top, on their wedding trip and upon their return will reside in Richmond Hill. The bride received her education at Richmond Hill High School and Miss Dunbar's School. She is chairman of the Department of Junior Club Women of the New York State Federation of Women's Clubs and former president of the Junior League of the 20th Century Club of Richmond Hill. Mr.

Menes attended Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and the Graduate School Business Administration of New York University. He is an electrical engineer, now serving the war department at the Signal Corps Research and Development Laboratories, Fort Monmouth, N. J. Patriotic Women Plan Final Event Thursday The Society of Patriotic Women of Brooklyn, Mrs. Arthur C.

Hamlen, president, will have the season's final social meeting and tea and Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Mrs. Charles West's home, 681. E. 24th St. The speaker will be Gen.

William Taylor. Mrs. Hilda Magnusen will be the soloist and Mrs. Viola Bird, pianist. Young Ladies Aid The board of directors of the Brooklyn Young Ladies Aid Society, Mrs.

Ida Berger, president, met at Abraham Straus' Restaurant on Tuesday. Mrs. Anna Heller, chairman of the board, presided. Mrs. Berger also spoke.

On Wednesday, June 29, Mrs. Sarah Holland of Neponsit will sponsor a luncheon and bridge for the benefit of the organization. Events scheduled for the future are a luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 22; a matinee theater party in October; a bridge at the Plaza in November; a bazaar at the Park Manor on Dec. 7 and 8, and the Winter luncheon during January.

Etta Krauss. -Newman The engagement of Miss Dolly Braverman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Braverman of Linwood Cedarhurst, to Merchant Marine Cadet Richard L. Newman, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Ira Newman of Derby Woodmere, has just been announced. Miss Braverman was graduated from Lawrence High School and has just completed her sophomore year at Ohio State University. Cadet Newman is a graduate of Woodmere High School and attended the University of Illinois and Fordham Law School. He recently returned to the Merchant Marine Academy in Great Neck, following eight months at sea.

Washington Church Special to the Brooklyn Eagle Port Washington, June 12-Miss Proskey, daughter of Helen- Mrs. Harold van Houten Proskey of Port Washington, was married this afternoon to Alexander Garcia son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Garcia of Forest Hills. The ceremony was performed at St.

Stephen's Church, Port Washington, by the Rev. William J. Woon. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. The bride and bridegroom are fourth year medical students at Long Island College of Medicine in Brooklyn.

They will begin interneships at the Syracuse Medical Center next January. The bride was graduated from Ashley Hall, Charleston, S. and Smith College. The bridegroom is a graduate of the College of the City of New York and is the president of Student Council at Long Island College of Medicine. He recently resigned his commission as lieutenant in the Medical Administrative Corps to be inducted in the Enlisted Reserve Corps of the Army.

Dr. M. Jane Howell of Bellevue Hospital, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eben Howell of Oyster Bay, was the maid of honor.

Miss Muriel Rattner of Deal, N. and Mrs. Jacob Jon Vargish, a classmate of the bride and bridegroom, were the bridesmaids. The bride wore white marquisette and a finger -tip veil. She carried sweet peas and roses.
