Titlists will be crowned in eight divisions.

One hundred boxers are entered. The local lads who are scheduled to put up their dukes against all comers for the coveted diadem are Sgt. Albert McDowere and Pfc. Wesley G. Hawley, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Gordon Hawley of 208 Van Buren St. McDowere, a six-footer, will compete for the H. S. Co.

The 22-year-old Hawley is a former student of Boys High and has been boxing for two years, and boasts eight important victories. He will exhibit his prowess for the 7011 ASU, Detachment 2 of Fort Myer. The boroughite, known as Bear, is 5-10 and weighs 171 pounds. Although he fought only 1j times during his two years of amateur boxing, he was able to gain the Military District of Washington light heavyweight diadem earlier in the year. IN WORLD'S PLAY H.

Lawrence, executive secretary of the New York Table Tennis Association, informs us that John Somael of 416 Sheffield this borough, will represent the United States in the world's singles tourney to be held in Vienna, Austria, from March 2 to March 11. His teammates will be Martin Reisman and Douglas Cartland of Manhattan. Somael, a product of East New York Vocational High School, has ranked among the top five in this country for the past 10 years. He captured the national singles laurels in 19-44 and the national doubles honors twice, in 1945 and 1948. According to Lawrence, John has to his credit the most amazing match victory record in the history of the sport.

In the final match of the 1944 competition he was down to Les Lowry of Boston, 20 to 13, in the fifth and final game. To the complete astonishment of the gallery, Somael came from behind to register the next nine points and eventually cop the premier honors, 22 20. TO REMEMBER DEAD The Who's Who of local basketball will be out in force at the Memorial High Mass of Requiem of the Catholic Basketball Veterans in the St. Vincent's Home chapel, Boerum PI. and State Washington's Birthday, at 10 a.m.

They are St. Joseph's School of Brentwood, L.

St. Angela Hall and St. Francis Xavier Academy. St. Joseph's hasn't filed the names of its competitors as yet.

St. Angela Hall's standard-bearers will be Joan and Eleanor Chaya, while St. Francis Xavier will pin its hope of wininng the Tablet Trophy on Frances Bisety and Katherine Donegan. OLD RIVALS CLASH When those archrivals of New England athletics. Holy Cross College Crusaders and Boston College Eagles, collide in the Worcester auditorium tomorrow evening, several Brooklyn boys will renew a feud of their own.

That will be particularly true of Tom Deegan, erstwhile St. Augustine's luminary now residing in Springfield Gardens, one of the mainstays of the Eagles, and Jim Kielley, a product of St. Michael's High School. Dick Fitzgerald of this borough will also resume an old rivalry of high school days with Genie Mann of the Crusaders, who grew up with Dick and Al McGuire in the Rockaways and did his stuff for Textile High. Among the stellar members of the Adelphi College swimming team are Leonard Fuchs, who prepared at Far Rock-away; George Cutsogeorge, New Hyde Park; Bob Clark, Hol-lis, and Andy Tatum of Malverne.

RECORD IN JEOPARDY A new record is likely to be set when Don Kinney, Loughlin; Jack Hennessey, Cardinal Hayes; Mike Ward, Iona Prep; Claude Tyson, Rice, and Bruce Williams, St. Francis Prep, clash in the trial heats of the 105-yard breaststroke in the C. H. S. A.
