He lived at 584 4th St. A resident of Brooklyn for the past 47 years, Justice Callaghan was one of the borough's religious and charitable leaders. He was a member of the Montauk, Hamilton, Brooklyn, City and Lawyers Clubs; the Elks, Masons, South Brooklyn Board of Trade, St. Patrick's Society of Brooklyn, Church Charity Foundation of Long Island, 12tn A. D.

Republican Club and several bar associations, and was senior warden of All Episcopal Church. Mr. Callaghan was president of the Boys Club of the Navy Yard District and took a great interest in all youth activities and movements. He headed charity fund drives for hospitals and church organizations throughout the borough. Born on a farm near Lebanon, Mr.

Callaghan attended the University of Missouri and entered New York Law School in 1897. He began the practice of law with the Henry J. Hagens Rites Tomorrow A high requiem mass for Henry J. Hagens, 75, of Forest Hills, who had been in the warehouse business for years, will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs R.

C. Church, Ascan Ave. and Queens Boulevard, Forest Hills. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Mr. Hagens died Friday night lat the home of his son, Joseph B. Hagens of 217 W. Lena Freeport. He had made his home in Forest Hills 35 years and had his warehouse at 6902 Austin St.

Burns died of a heart attack Saturday night in his parked automobile in Jamesport. For 20 years he was a Boy Scout commissioner in Nassau County. A veteran of War I. he was a member of the New York Society of Military and Naval Officers and the Ninth Regiment Association. He also was a member of Equity Masonic Lodge in the Bronx.

Arthur Lowe, 66, Ex-Vaudevillian Funeral services for Arthur Lowe, 66, old-time vaudevillian, will be held tonight at 8 in Cooke's Funeral Home, Snyder and Flatbush A Aves, Burial be tomorrow in Evergreens Cemetery. Mr. Lowe was forced to retire from the entertainment field and give up his profession as a banjo player because of 111 health. He worked in the pathological laboratory of Kings County Hospital for the past 15 years. A life-long resident of Brooklyn, Mr.

Chworow- Callaghan. In 1910 he was elected a City Alderman and in 1911 was appointed to the Municipal Court. Mr. Callaghan was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1915 to fill a vacancy and in theesame year was elected to a full term. He sat on the bench for 14 years until his defeat in 1929.

Justice Callaghan presided at the trial of Mrs. Florence Knapp, first woman Secretary of State in New York. She was charged with grand larceny of State census funds' and sentenced by Justice Callaghan to days in jail.
