HUNT BROTHER OF RIDE VICTIM; ANASTASIA PAL Police launched an intensive search today for Brooklyn mobster Benedicto Macri in hopes that he could provide a lead to the killers of his brother, Vincent, who was found with two bullet holes in his head in the trunk compartment of his car The slain man, described as a close henchman of Albert Anastasia, one-time executioner for Murder, was discovered by a retired transit worker shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday in the trunk compartment of a flashy hardtop convertible. The car had been parked in front of 2931 Wickham Bronx, since Friday afternoon. Police said Vincent, who has a police record of two convictions including one for attempted extortion of a Brooklyn doctor- -still had a "wantout for him for questioning in the slaying of union organizer William Lurye five years ago. William Keating, chief counsel of the New York City AntiCrime Committee, said that an attempt was made to kill Anastasia at a party in his Fort Lee, N. home celebrating Macri's acquittal. Anastasia's colleague, Willie Moretti, a too-talkative gambler, met his fate, however, at the hands of the gangland executioners. Vincent Macri's role in the underworld has not yet been determined completely. It was known that he and Anastasia were associates in business ventures in the garment industry. Police said Macri was shot twice in the head with two small caliber bullets. Apparently, his 200-pound body was dragged by two men from the shooting place and crammed into the trunk of his 1952 twotone Pontiac.

Although Macri owned the car, it was registered in the name of his nephew, Carmello' Lazzaro, of 6416 15th Ave. Relatives at that address were being questioned closely police for possible leads.
