It is near a fine pine crovc and has a pretty stretch of lawn. The farm of 25 acres connected with the house produces milk, butter, eggs, fruit and vegetables, and the guests are assured of pure food. The terms are $7 to per week and the proprietor, who is most cordial and agreeable. Is J. B.

Kerr. The Fines at Windham is a very delightful place, a large house surrounded by the fragrance of the pine woods, and the balmy odors of the forest. No more healthful location could be found. Tha views arri remarkably picturesque, and the walks and drives alluring and romantic. The trout streams in the vicinity aro carefully preserved and during tha closed season and are In consequence well stocked with fish.

The Prospect House at Hunter Is lo-cau-d on the most desirable site in the village. The veranda, 200 feet long, faces the highest point in the entire Catskill range. The house is lit by electricity and every effort is made to keep it up to a high class metropolitan standard. The rates are from $10 to $15 per week with special season rates to families. M. Cannane. The O'Hnra House at Lexington, in the very heart of the mountains, has been doubled in size, and now has accommodations for 12S guests. It Is spacious, finely furnished, conveniently arranged, and has all modern improvements. The house Is supplied with pure spring water, and connected with a fine farm of 250 acres.

A billiard holl and bowling alley have jttsf been completed. The terms are $10 to $14 per week. The horse Is now in its thirtieth season. HAINES FALLS. Perched on the slope of the mountains.

Broadway. The Grant House, at Catskill, opens for the thirty-eighth season this year, with the prestige of years of popularity. This spacious house, which accommodates 1100, Is situated in a natural park of 25 acres, and is surrounded' by extensive velvety lawns of thirty years cultivation. The house is well known to be perfectly healthful and the excellent cuisine will bo tinder the direction of the same rhef as last season. There are golf links, tennis courts and baseball old on the grounds.

Grant Cornell are the proprietors. The rates are from $12 to $18 per week. The Hunter Mountain Trospect House, at Hunter, Greene County, is located on the most desirable site in the village. The rooms are large and well ventilated nnd the veranda, 200 feet long, is one of the features of the hotel. The house is very comfortable and homelike, and is lighted by electricity.

The menu is varied, and the management prides itself on its homo cooking. The Columbia is the annex to the house, and is equipped for bowling, games and dancing. The rates are $10 to $15 per week. The Emboght House, at Catskill, accommodates seventy-five easily, and is very comfortable. It occupies an elevated position, with a fine view of the river and the mountains" and the center of the town.

Two sulphur springs are within a short walk. The rates are moderate. John E. Overbach is the proprietor. The Hillerest House at Norton Hill is i Haines Falls New York TANNERSVILLE, GREENE N.

Outdoor sports such as tennis, baseball, bathing and fishing, as well as indoor recreations of bowling and dancing, may bo enjoyed by the guests of the Shady Glen House and cottages at Freehold. This house, which can hold 125 guests, fronts on the beautiful Glen Creek which is well known for its trout fishing. The rates are from $7 to $10, with special terms to families or large parties. The Glenerie Falls House, at Glaseo, Ulster County, is a very popular hourte, with fine verandas, and beautiful shade trees.

The house is open all the year round, and enjoys a steady patronage. The rates are from $8 to $10 per week, and the table under the management of C. Schoentag, is generously provided with hearty German cookery. The Washington Inn, at Phoenicia. I'lster County, is a most dignified and impressive looking building, of generous size, located in the most beautiful sur-roui dings.

It occupies a truly regal site on a plateau of dome thirty acres, and is well protected from storms by the towering mountains. The bedrooms are all outflde rooms, many having private baths, and with hot and cold water. The house has an elevator, is heated by steam and lighted by gas and electricity. It is thoroughly nrst class throughout. The cuisine is given particular attention and there is an a la carte service in the afternoons and evenings for the accommodation of motorists and driving tourists.

The hotel, which accommodates is managed by Samuel Proskey. formerly one of the proprietors of the Hotel Ivake Hopatcong; Congress Hall, Saratoga, and Tampa nay Hotel. Florida. The rates are from $15 per week upward. The Kiskatom Retreat House, at Kiska-tom.

D. S. HOYT. one of the most retired nooks in all New York State. It accommodates twenty guests, and the rates arc $6 per week.

For any one seeking complete rest and quiet, with beautiful scenery, this house will fill every requirement. The Rlseley Farm House at Woodstock is situated on high ground and accommodates sixty-five people. The house is large, the lawn very attractive, and the surroundings excellent. Quite a number of Brooklyn people can recommend this place, and the patronage is carefully restricted. This is certainly a most pleasant, cheerful and healthful place.

The rates are moderate, running from $6 to $8 per week. The Irvington. at. Woodstock. I'lster County, is at the foot of Overlook Mountain, and has a very beautiful location.

All the rooms are large and comfortable, and can accommodate in comfort seventy-five guests. The, sanitary arrangements are of the best, and the house Is lit by gas. and will compare in appointments with many a far larger and more pretentious hotel. The terms are $6 to $10. and the proprietor is Jacob D.

Wurts, M.D. Pine Grove House, at Gayhead. Greene County, is a large house on shady grounds with a pine grove on the premises. It has accommodations for 100. and the tahle is in Kaatcrskill Clove, the Lodge, which is the Inn of Santa Cruz Park, looks like the ideal mountain resort.

Closer acquaintance does not lessen this first impression, for in all respects this house Is Just the kind of mountain resting place that appeals to people of culture. Its patronage is most distinguished, and its service correspondingly excellent. Tha walks and drives in this, the Rip Van Winkle section of the Catskills, arc very -numerous, and it would be difficult to select the most attractive. There are golf links but half a mile distant, which are used by the guests of the Lodge and neighboring cottages. The terms are moderate, ranging upward from $12.50 per week.

The Vista, owned by Miss Amy A. Ely, at Haines falls, is a place which has a select patronage, attracted not only by the natural beauties of the place, but also by the qunlilty of the board. The proprietor aims to make it a summer home, not a hotel. It is within a short distance of the station and the center of the village, and within a ten minutes walk of Twilight and Santa Cruz Parks. A golf links, tennis courts and croquet grounds are in the immediate vicinity.

The terms are from to $10 rr week. About half way between tha tuad of the ways had direct from the farm. The terms are to $7 per week. The Hidecker House, near Windham, Greene County, is in a very desirable location at an elevation of 1.800 feet; near enough to all the places of greatest interest in the Catskills, so that the most distant can be visited in a day's journey. The house la furnished comfortably, and is a good place to rest and escape malaria or other ills of low lyiqg altitudes.

The terms are $6 to $8 per week. The commodious Maxwell House at Saugcrtics is located in the heart of the village, surrounded by large trees, and but a short walk from some of the finest spots in the mountains. A fine livery, with a number of large stages for picnics and drives, is managpd in connection wilh the house. It has a capacity of 100, and is the largest hotel In the village. At Vrlton, Greene County, in the Cats-kills, at an elevation of 2.000 feet above sea level, the Maplehurst offers to the Becker for recreation many opportunities for amusement.

In addition to the usual boating, bathing and hunting, there is an amusement hall and dancing pavilion, which arc the center of the ljfe of the community. The house is ofi comfort- prr week; for children, according to their ages. ralenville, in Greene County, in the center of the Catskills. is a charming little town anil a restful spot for a vacation. The Hotel Millbnie is most pleasantly situated back from the street with a fine lawn and shade trees.

The hotel hag no object ionable features, and the aim of the new management is to add to its excellent commands a view across the great Hudson River Valley, clear over to the mountains of New England. The rooms are large and comfortably furnished, and the best of everything is placed on the table. This seems to be an ideal situation to spend a restful and contemplative vacation, which will insure returns in health and pleasure, at least, equal to the cost of getting them. The rates are reasonable, from $7 to 51 per week. At Purling, on the prctiy Shinglckill.

in Greene County, is the Evergreen Grove House, which, as it name implies, is surrounded by large pine and fir trees exhaling balmy odors. For those troubled with insomnia this feature should prove a boon. The house and cottages have a capacity of 125. The terms ire $7 to 110 reputation as a first class family resort, It has all the modern features of tin first class hnrtelry of its size, is clean and well kept and the table service is I able size, holding "5 guests, and the rates are moderate, running from $6 to Cheritree's Inn. a qunlut, quiet, altrac-tive looking, roomy, old house at Oak Hill, Greene County, accommodates fifteen guests.

The charges are from $7 to $9 per week. The house has a wide piazza, shaded by large maples, and la conveniently located. The Paramount, in the heart of the Catskills, at South Durham, is a large house on the crest of a hill, surrotmded by a farm of seventy acres. This house kills can be bad. The terms are $7 to especially good.
