Nearest rival to Brooklyn Prep is Loughlln with five wins and one defeat. Loughlln did not play yesterday. In another league meeting St. opin TO 40 CHEVROLET KAISIRFRAXIR John's Prep snapped a three-game losing streak by beating St. Augustine; 30.

St. John's DEALER has a record of five wins and three setbacks. It was St. DESERVES THREE CHEERS Milton Secol, a public spirited citizen who lives in the vicinity of the Parade Grounds, has done something tangible for a group of youngsters who want to play baseball. He has formed a loop to be known in the future as the Ice Cream League.

It is currently composed of four teams, the Panthers, Retons, Casacs and Scorpions and the players range in age from 13 to 15. Secol is anxious to get at least four more teams Interested to make it an eight-club circuit. It is planned to play twilight ball at the Parade Grounds if it is. possible to get a sufficient number of diamonds. The Park Department should be willing to help such a worthy project in these days of increased juvenile delinquency.

It would be worthwhile for civic minded citizens in other localities to do likewise, particularly those sections where a gang feud recently resulted in a youngster being elain. Red Hook Park and other nearby recreation yards should be placed at the disposal of the youngsters for twilight games if the fields are in use earlier in the day. Business houses might be persuaded to put up suitable prizes to encourage such work. Secol is putting up his own prizes. The winning team will receive gold medals.

There may be some among our readers who will want to do their bit. They can do so by contacting Secol at 55 E. 21st Brooklyn 26, or telephoning BU. 2-8694. Secol has been interesting himself in the boys around the Parade Grounds for a number of years.

Many of the youngsters owe the improvement in their game to the instructions they have received from Secol.
