crimiral schemes, 1 hope lie gets twenty years. 3 There is a class of queer "Americans" almost as obnoxious. A long letter reached me last night from "An American whose ancestors came from England and have transmitted to me (him) royal blood." In three pages of legal size I am abused for "not coming out more strongly against the Germans." He has many unkindly words to say about Oermans who came to this land poor and have prospered. Several personalities are indulged In regarding Brooklynites; special reference is made to a recent Knights Templar ball, in this borough, at which attendance was chiefly German. I care nothing for this unsigned "American with reverence for royal He may not be so obnoxious as the German anarchists just exposed who would destroy your life and mine for the sake of the Fatherland.

Why should he cavil at Teutonic blood when he hails, originally, from a monarchy ruled over by a petty Hanover family, not a member of which Is the equal of any real, cleanly-born Briton! Had my critic signed his name, I could have turned it up in Browning's "Americans of Royal Descent" and learned whether he Is of royal blood. In any event, it is a rotten thing for any real American to brag about. Much like the snobbish Philadelphia woman who in-sists she Is a granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin, who never had a legitimate child. Once for all, I desire to state clearly that I have nothing whatever against Germans who have become loyal American citizens. Those who left their country to escape military service, in addition to many other oppressions, and have enjoyed the real liberties of this republic, but still remain more devoted to "the dear Fatherland" than to the country of their adoption, ought to be Interned at once and deported the moment war comes to an end! If it costs fifty millions to send back unloyal Germans, every man and woman of them ought to be made to go! That is the way I feel about all foreigners who remain aliens.

My British critic goes into the discard with the rest. New Buildings. MARCH 13. Suydam st, 275 ft Central 1-story brick church, 64x100, slag roof; cost. $15,000.

BASEBALL LEAGUE 1917 Club in the diviiion marked Captain Address nnlKd to th Sporting Editor, Ilrooklyn FACTORY DISTRICT CONTINUES TO GROW Industrial Section of Flushing Shows Remarkable Development. George W. Pople. president of the Business Men's Association of Flushing, is of the opinion that Flushing hat is, the section of the town on or near Flushing River will soon become one of the greatest manufacturing centers in Queens. Up to date many large manufacturing concerns have come to Flushing and more are expected.

Mr. Pople, in discussing the future of Flushing with an Eagle man, said: "It is particularly noticeable that within the lust twelve months the outside manufacturing interests have be-Kun to take advantage of the many industrial facilities that Flushing and vicinity has to offer. "The locating of the Nathan Manufacturing plant on the ten acres fronting on Lawrence street, with a railroad siding connecting it with the Long Island Railroad, is perhaps the most Important. "The Rainier Motor Corporation has just erected a large and up-to-date factory on several acres adjoining the tracks of the Long Island Railroad, north of Myrtle avenue. Flushing.

"The Commercial Research Company has bought and is now remodeling the Bogcrt machine shop works, fronting on Myrtle avenue with a railroad connection with the Long Island Railroad. "These three factories have located in Flushing within the last twelve months, and I believe the Business Men's Association of Flushing should advocate and encourage the location of additional factories in this vicinity. "The City of New York, has laid out certain unrestricted zones where factories may be built, so that it is no longer a question of individual choice, but is now governed by the City Ordinance. "It is a fact that there is proportionately more land that can be devoted to industrial uses in this section than in any other section of the Greater City, for the reason that the one thousand or more acres of low land, now being filled, which borders Flushing River and the Long Island Railroad, is in the unrestricted or industrial zone. "If you will picture in your mind's eye the course of Flushing Creek from the lower end of Lawrence street to Cedar Grove Cemetery, you will see that there is a strip of land varying in depth from 200 feet to 1,000 feet, which is particularly well adapted for manufacturing purposes.

This means the passing of one of the oldest and most historical landmarks in the old Village of Flushing, to give way to the march of industrial improvement, the beautiful and stately residence, the Lawrence Homestead, Willow Bank, fronting on Flushing Creek. "We have the facilities Flushing liay, Flushing River, and the Long Island Railroad now giving us connections with the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Connecting Railroad." COMMERCIAL LEASE.
