THE JUNIOR EAGLE. BROOKLYN-NEW YORK, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13," 1908. -a was plainly stated that all entries for the basket 11 1 iaa 11 1 11 Vi--2J II I ball games must be iu by Saturday, December 12, and as that day is passed, it is too late to send others in. Captains who have entered teams will receive a card notifying them of a meeting to be held soon, and to eliminate all possibility of "kicks" it will be necessary for each Individual mcmocr to be weighed before the tournament begins. And another important rule which must be enforced is that the original list of names as given to me cannot be changed.

Last winter poor players were taken out and better ones added, and, consequently, this created great dissatisfaction among boys who were fair and conscientious. There will be plenty of good-natured rivalry, as teams have been selected from several of the recent football tournament, and the losers are anxious to "get back" (as they express it) at the winners. And now that athletics are being discussed, the girls of the gymnasium should not be left in the background. They meet every Saturday morning at Henley's, and their basketball games, folk dances and all of the other healthful exercises they have gone into are proving wonderfully successful, and they are very enthusiastic over the work. Yesterday was only the third Saturday of the meetings, yet a marked improvement could be seen Til their work.

It is to be regretted that s5 many girls sent in their names too late to be enrolled as members. The membership was limited, and the class is already a very large one too large to take others at present.
