11 (U.P.)-A 15-year-old Negro boy, frost-bitten and wild-eyed with hysteria, was found in a sealed freight car where he had been imprisoned without food or heat on a four -day trip from Connecticut. William Melvin Wright was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hos. pital here where his condition was described as "pretty good." Railroad workers freed him from the box car on a railroad siding in nearby East Madison yesterday. The boy told hospital attendants that he lived in Boston and was trying to "hitch" a ride to Oakland, to see his mother.

Attendants said his hysterical condition, however, prevented him from giving more details. William said he hitch-hiked from Boston to New Haven, where he went to the freight yards and climbed into a Nickel Plate box car. He said he hit his head on the side of the car when the train started with a jerk. When he recovered consciousness, he discovered that the car was sealed. He huddled in a corner of the car with only thin clothing to protect him for his four-day trip half way across the country.

When railroad workers at East Madison heard his muffled cries and freed him, the boy sobbed uncontrollably, then collapsed.
